Dear UN Delegates,

As of 8:30 a.m. CST this morning, the Republic of Teruchev submitted its proposal to repeal the Sex Education Act. Before you dismiss this as a reactionary move, read on...

Teruchev is not at odds philosophically with the Sex Education Act but rather with its role in attempting to socially engineer member states, overriding social and cultural factors. As well, this resolution is an unnecesary intrusion into the domestic education systems of all NS UN members.

Because of this Teruchev has moved to bring this resolution back under review, and in this light wants the Sex Education Act to be separated from its "feel-good" characteristics and be scrutinized for what it truly represents. Honourable Delegates, what this resolution truly repesents is less autonomy for your nation and for mine.

I therefore humbly ask for your assistance to bring the Sex Education Act back to a general UN vote, and be judged on its real merits.

Already approved, and bumped to boot.

Thanks to everyone so far who have supported Teruchev's repeal of the Sex Education Act.

A friendly reminder that there are still two days left to vote to bring this resolution back under scrutiny.

For those who fear that bringing it back for a general vote will allow for a more rigorous sex education resolution to take its place, please read up on Texan Hotrodder's latest proposal, which is an effective omnibus resolution that will free up the powers of the UN, allowing it to focus on its central tenets of peace, dialogue, and humanitarianism, instead of nitpicking on the various domestic policies of member nations.

For this is what the repeal of the Sex Education Act is all about, Honourable Delegates. It isn't even about whether or not all nations should have access to progressive education about human sexuality; I wouldn't even pretend to know that. This is about refocusing the UN so that it can fulfill it mandate of peace, dialogue and humanitarianism unencumbered by resolutions that force it to legislate on behalf of members' respective assemblies in areas of domestic jurisdiction.

Honourable delegates, I ask you, on this repeal's last day, to vote for bringing it to a general vote. Failing that, I would favour a strong showing to indicate the displeasure within the UN of the social engineering agenda of the author.

Let's take back the UN, Honourable delegates. This body has lost its focus, and we need the UN badly in so many ways, but I feel that it is missing its mandate on most counts. Let us not treat the UN as a place to impose one's personal agenda over others, but as a place where we can work together in cooperation.

Though your intentions to merely re-focus the attention of the NSUN are worthy, the good people of Discordinia do not support your proposal.
