Lay off Starcra II!

As we move our focus from the actual voting on Promotion of Solar Panels, and onto how to repeal and replace it, one problem has come forth several times: the sheer level of disrespect and poor treatment of Starcra II.

I think we are all aware of the failings of the now resolution 122, and Starcra II has also acknowledged those failings and has begun to assist in both the repeal and potential replacement of Resolution 122 with a more feasable proposal. Procedural problems such as drafting that plagued the original resolution have been remedied - evident more than anything by the fact that a draft has been posted here and modifications have been made to it several times (I believe version 4 is now on the table).

Starcra II was also active within the drafting process of Ficticious Proportions' proposed replacement, and has actively pushed it in other threads related to the resolution.

Over the course of the past day, I have seen everything from comments stating that Starcra II should never be allowed to submit another proposal again, Starcra II is a monster, and various other insults, insinuations, and general disrespect of the representative of Starcra II.

As someone who actively campaigned against the resolution off the forums as part of a much larger telegram campaign and several times commented on the forums against the resolution, I find this treatment of Starcra II to be dispicable. While I think it is nice that there has been a jump in activity as some relatively new people have joined in, I'm am disgusted by the attitude that came with it. As such, I want to remind all representatives of a few things

1) This forum is moderated, and insults are not welcome.
2) Many people love the spirit of Resolution 122, but opposed it for its impracticality. As such, a practical replacement for resolution 122 is not out of line.
3) An opinion is that, an opinion. You can debate against the opinion or with the opinion. The person behind the opinion is irrelevant to the opinion. Attack the argument, not the person
4) Starcra II is a person. A HUMAN BEING. As such, Starcra II deserves to be treated with the same respect as any other person on this forum. You may not respect the opinions of one person or another for a variety of reasons, but that level of respect should not equate to not respecting the person.
5) On these forums, people are welcome and often do post suggestions or comments to things they disagree with, more interested in the quality of the proposal than the position of the proposal. Don't disregard a suggestion just because someone disagrees with you on the matter.

I hope that with these things in mind, this forum can return to the civil and friendly atmosphere that it has normally held.

I'll treat Starcra with respect, but I'm not likely to support his/her proposals in the near future.

I'm certain Starcra had only the best intentions.

Actually, you don't

Incidentally, I'm surprised the original proposal didn't also include a clause requiring tipping the flipping planet a few degrees in relation to its plane of orbit around the sun to allow for all regions to enjoy 12 hours of sunlight per day, year round. Thank God planet tipping wasn't included -- think of the poor ice caps, lol.

I have others if you care to be reminded
