Proposal: Free Country Simulation Game

As far as I know (and I have read all the rules I could find), there are no rules against the following proposal. If there are, it's really too bad, because I already submitted it.
Please vote for this proposal (voting ends on monday) and use the internet and roleplaying to make this world a better place!

FREE COUNTRY SIMULATION GAME

The UN,

REALIZING that many people in our world have preconceptions and misguided opinions about other people, nations and religious, ideological and political systems,

ALSO REALIZING that these preconceptions and misguided opinions can result in hate, and that this hate can be used by political, ideological and religious leaders to start wars,

CONVINCED that people can learn to understand and respect other people and other ways of life and thinking than their own by roleplaying,

NOTING that the internet makes it easier for people all over the world to communicate with each other,

RESOLVES to concoct a simulation game that can be played on the internet, encouraging people all over the world to tell other people about their political opinions, their religious beliefs and their way of life:

1. The simulation game will be called “People’s Countries”.
2. People’s Countries will be a free simulation game for every person on the planet who has access to the internet.
3. People’s Countries will be a country simulation game, in which the players can build and run a country according to their own political ideals.
4. It will be possible for the countries, created by the players of People’s Countries, to join the UN. This UN is, of course, not the real UN, but a simulated UN in the universe of People’s Countries.
5. If a player chooses to join the People’s Countries UN, (s)he will be given the opportunity to write proposals and resolutions for the People’s Countries UN. All players who choose to join the People’s Countries UN will be able to vote for or against these proposals and resolutions.
6. The players of People’s Countries will be given the opportunity to discuss their political opinions, their religious beliefs and the proposals and resolutions of the People’s Countries UN on a forum that will be accessible to all players of People’s Countries.
7. The simulation game will be concocted by a team consisting of computer programmers, internet specialists and some representatives of the (real) UN. When they have finished their job, the computer programmers and internet specialists will be given a reasonable award for their efforts.

LMAO, great idea.

I think this would get classified as "unworthy of UN's time", but I think it's an absolutely hilarious idea.

Preposterous. What type of fool would indulge in such fanciful nonsense? I don't see a market, myself.

Next you'll have us believe that this so called nation simulation game is about advertising a book!
Roathin

Greetings.

We of Roathin are most concerned that a simulation game should be designed and promulgated such that it advances the cause of that most illusive and dangerous concept, a 'free country'. We believe that such a game might cause greater political awareness at the expense of industry, and perhaps even promote civil rights at the expense of morality. We suggest that the implementation of the 'Free Country' Simulation Game might also tax the network with excessive bandwith consumption, thus crippling the Information Technology industry and losing customers of the Automotive industry. All round, this is a Bad Idea and we cannot bring ourselves to be a part of it.

I am sure that everybody, including Roathin, understands that the 'free' in 'Free Country Simulation Game' means that the game is free, not that the countries created by the players of People's Countries must be 'free countries'.

This proposal sounds like something out of a Sim City game or something along the likes where a precident of a parody is set. it is a funny proposal, but fairly useless legislation. Well written and creative though.

We agree with this proposal, provide this "Peoples' Countries" game will include provisions to let the simulated PCUN pass a resolution calling for the creation of a game simulating the creation and operation of the simulated countries.

It should also include provisions for an admin/mod named purple(:)) , she will be a mystery to all but a few Illumninati. Her identity and existance will be the stuff of legend through out all that is People's Country. Also I believe that renowned Australian, Maxwell Berry should write out the basic story plots for the game.

It should be called "Follopollopollofian Earth."

Hmmm. What if one of the countries within this simulation game proposes a UN resolution creating a Free Country Simulation Game. And then one of the countries within that simulation game proposes a UN resolution creating a Free Country Simulation Game. And then ...........

If I remember correctly that quote is from the TV show M*A*S*H and is said by Col. Potter during a Father Mulcahey sound-a-like contest.

Greetings.

Contrary to others' beliefs regarding turtles, joc(k)ularity or implosion, we are of the opinion that the great thaumaturge Wilhelm of Ogham was correct: the needless multiplication of unnecessary entities can be solved by a razor, and only one such will be left standing - a testament to the follicle of mankind. A hair-raising business to be sure.

I'm a great fan of Ockham's razor myself, but I don't see any 'needless multiplication of unnecessary entities' here... Or are you suggesting that Kapellen and Roathin and Yeldan UN Mission and our UN themselves only exist in some kind of nation simulation game? It is, of course, impossible to prove that this is not the case, but it really seems like a far-fetched idea! You really think that hundreds of thousands of nations only exist on some kind of internet or in the minds of some players that have imagined all these nations and that those nations are not real after all?... No, that can't be true! ;)

The turtles, sir. The neverending turtles. Or if you are a lawyer, you would prefer tortoises.
