Proposal text:
LGBTQI Rights Bill
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Bellaben

Description: We, the United Nation, recognize the basic human rights of all individuals, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI hereafter). The LGBTQI Equality Act seeks to extend civil rights and fair treatment to members of these communities.

We recognise that many nations seek to opress LGBTQI people within their nation and seek to extend their opinions beyond their borders by threatening other member nations who desire equality, justice and rights for all their people regardless of their sexual or gender identity.

Believing that Human right is a rooted in belief in human dignity, and that everyone, including members of the LGBTQI communities, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of occupation or expression.

This allows freedom of expression of a person’s innate sense of self

Taking into account that everyone has the freedom of choice as outlined in the resolution of Universal Freedom of Choice to act in a way that might or might not fit with conventional LGBTQI stereotype. This also allows people the right to express their sexual or gender identity in the way they feel comfortable.

Acknowledges than that LGBTQI right is a recognized social issue that many governments have made significant progress already in. Also salutes the LGBTQI leaders and pioneers who have paved the way for this bill to be enacted.

Recognises that not all people who identify as Transgender, Queer or Intersex automatically idetify themselves as LGB.

Acknowledging that many LGBTQI people are discriminated against in all area of life, including in employments and health care.

Noting with satisfaction that a significant number of human right laws have already been approved by the United Nation.

Be it resolved that the LGBTQI Equality Act be recognized and declared by the United Nation.

Article one: One’s self expression of gender and sexual identity shall be included as a prohibited ground of discrimination; any person self defining as LGBTQI should receive the same right as everyone else residing in all U.N member countries.

Article two: Considering that if someone does identify as LGBTQI is much more likely to be targeted for hate violence, discrimination within the work place, law enforcement authorities should be encouraged to access LGBTQI Sensitivity training so they can adequately and sufficiently deliver justice to members of the LGBTQI communities.

Article 3: All LGBTQI discrimination in hiring, promotion, training and dismissal will be illegal in all U.N countries.

Article 4: Everyone has the right to express their gender or sexuality in a way that they feel comfortable with. Medical personnel are not allowed to refuse treatments to a LGBTQI person based on early childhood trauma and hatred for LGBTQI people.

Not only do I object to it as I do the Transgendered resolution up for vote (i.e. I think you should read the previous resolutions more), copying others' proposals is illegal. I didn't realize it was a copy until I saw that articles were numbered as "one, two, 3, 4".

There has been a call by some for a bevy of repeals to be administered against the current human rights resolutions and the passage of a universal replacement. But, again, until the other resolutions are repealed, I think this is duplicating/contradicting previous resolutions just as much as I think the current proposal up for vote is.

I'd pay more attention to trying to stop the repeal gay rights proposal getting through, but if it does go through i shall support you.

Repeal "Gay Rights"? There's no harm in one of those getting through. I'm not sure it'd pass, but even if it did, the rights of gays wouldn't be affected. "Gay Rights" doesn't, with much effect at all, protect gays' rights.

If the previous discrimination laws were to be repealed for the purpose of replacing them with a single law i would be in favour of that endevour.

Meh - ideally the current gay rights resolution should be renamed same sex orientation resolution, and have a concrete list of how is seeks to end discrimination against those who practice it.

But I'm not for a repeal, as I think there's too many fundies out there.

Although as regards this proposal I wonder if you've ever read the previous resolution list - this should be a must for all proposal writers!

I mean theoretically if you see "gay" as refering to same-sex orientation (and thus covering L and Q also) and since the transgendered resolution also covers I, this proposal is frankly meaningless as it doesn't enforce things that aren't already (or about to be) enforced.

Haven't we covered this already?

Can we try and pass ONE environmental resolution before we vote on yet another proposal that has something to do with Social justice.

I mean, who really cares how much "equality" you might have if you have no Top Soil to grow food?

But hey, let's fight for the straightening of Male Genital Bending.

Oh the horror, many males suffer from their Johnsons bending to the left due to excessive masturbation!

OH THE HORROR, we must protect these men Genitals!!!!

So I proposal an Equal Hand Opportunity during Self-love Resolution.

Or better know EHODSLR.

We must teach men to use BOTH hands on their penis as to prevent them from leaning one direction or the other...

OH THE HORROR!!!!
