I am trying to get a proposal passed. To find it, please direct your attention to the UN list of proposals and scroll down to SEARCH for ' Charitable Investment ' or simply ' Investment '

Observing: that the problem faced by third world nations is not a lack of money or the developed world's wealth, but a lack of infrastructure. They have corruption in high ranks limiting the amount of money trickling down the ladder.
-------
Proposal: UN projects for aid, etc be privatized and run by those nation's visionaries and entrepeneurs themselves.
With the money coming from investor groups/businesses/enterprises with no chance of profit available to them in our countries they will have a chance to use the money given as tax write-offs.
By giving businesses a chance to give for tax benefits in return, rather than the burden put on governments who force to cut things in their own nations, we take the stress off of governments and put it to the people and hence we will further open our trade borders as two-way streets with the third world. The UN businesses/aid projects of course will be required by UN sanction daily quality reports so the UN may properly supervise quality control.

Our world is one of free trade, and 'charitable investment' must be achieved to bridge the gap between social justice and capitalistic gain. We must not favor one over the other but have one lead us to the other.

-------
I'd appreciate it if you could tell your fellow delegates about it, this isn't my proposal, its ours, one the UN must at least bring to the final stage to prove its power still stands. We've come too close to give up, our support toll stands at over 43 nations and climbing. Post it on the forum, etc, we need the word out.
We make this work, we creat an alliance to pass any proposal you or I may want.

With your proposal lacking 91 approvals as of now, it appears it will not make it into the queue. We sincerely hope you will resubmit it. And we have a suggestion....

Before resubmitting the proposal, start a thread here titled: "DRAFT PROPOSAL: Charitable Investment". Make sure that your first post includes the text of the draft.

Titling the thread like that will signal people that there's a draft to be commented upon, not just chatter. And including the text in the first mesage is a much appreciated convenience to your readers.

Frankly, we're not sure whether we would support the proposal or not. Our nation isn't exactly known for its economic expertise, and we'd very much like to hear the opinions of others more knowledgeable than we are. There may be booby traps and hidden disadvantages we don't see. A good discussion of a draft would be most helpful. With all respect, we also believe that some re-working of the language of the proposal is in order to make it more easily understandable. You'll undoubtedly get some good ideas along that line in a discussion of the draft.

While we can't promise support of your proposal, we commend your effort. We believe your idea is worth serious consideration.
