The Curious Case of the Missing Proposals

OKay, I've just become delegate, and done my delegate duty - going through the proposal list and endorsing the ones I like. What do I find? There are currently only three pages of proposals. This was quite a shock, as I'm used to seeing between ten and twenty pages.

What happened?

It's not simply that people are disappearing - the UN still has 34,405 member nations and 2,325 Regional Delegates. Are people giving up on proposals altogether? What then shall we use this entire forum for?

Or have the mods been super-active, and the ones remaining are the few that passed the tests for legality? If so, props to the mods, and keep up the good work.

Hmmm...t'would be nice to think it was a mod purge, but then why would "National Gambling" still be around, consisting of one sentence? I'd assume they'd purge that as well.

Put it down to the summer lull?

It wasn't this bad last year, which is about when I was last delegate, plus I was pushing for a proposal so I needed to keep up with the list.

The proposal queue "clears out" on the UN update. And you probably also hit the queue (3 AM PDT if your post was soon after you saw this) after Hack had done a check as well ... at least that is my guess. In any event, from time to time, a moderator will go on a cleaning spree.

Personally I don't particularly see so few resolutions in the list to be a problem. It just means that there is less garbage to sift through to find the good ones. :)

No, no, I wasn't complaining, far from it. It was just something that I found worthy of comment, and quite startling. In any case, we're now up to 7 pages, and looking like an increase.

A three-page proposal list...it's every delegate's dream come true. :)

Perhaps the UN gnomes got hungry?

Now that Fris can delete Proposals on his own, he's gunning for my gold metal, I think.

Actually, truth be told, 'branding' is catching a lot of Proposals. I think that's part of it. I think it's a combination of lull, lots of bad Proposals, and two active Game Mods wading through with the Scythe of DEAT.

As for "National Gambling", well... it's largely legal and too stupid to have a prayer of passing. I just skipped over it on my way to the one about executing Manchester United fans...
