Due to detrimental effect fossil fuels have on the environment and the health of the population, the Allied States of Cemendur proposes a tax on fossil fuels.

The more greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide a fuel emits, the more heavily it will be taxed.

This tax will hopefully push businesses and countries towards using clean energy sources.

All revenue from this tax will be put into developing alternative energy sources.

Affects: All businesses

Would people please support my proposal.

I think that each nation can decide for itself if it needs to tax fossil fuels. Each nation handles taxes in it's own way and it would be insance to force a nation to add a tax that my not bee needed in every case.

There are some nations that already devote tons of cash to the development of new fuels or cleaner ways to burn the current ones. Those nations may consume large amount of fossil fuel but contribute less to world polution because of advance technology.

Why should thay have to pay what would be a hefty international tax on fossil fuels when a lesser developed nation, with less effcient industries, polutes more and pays less.

Even though I feel that any sort of internation tax imposed by the UN would be unfair, I also think that it is illegal.

I think that it is not a bad idea and ur on the right track but by posenig a tax you are forceing compaies to pay money because they are dammaging the environment witch is all good. The corrupt part of that is the money spent on the tax could be used on improveing the plant witch most companies do anny way.

Ferthermore what would this money go to? Who would receve it? Shurly not the governments for they are the reason that some companies have such a high polution rate by not setting a standard high enough

Away to fix this is not by taxing evoryone just those under a set polution rate and go from there. If you were to chang this I would gladly support you.

Simply, i would refer you to UN resolution #4.

UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION #4

UN taxation ban
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Nassland

Description: The UN shall not be allowed to collect taxes directly from the citizens of any member state for any purpose.

Votes For: 4,511
Votes Against: 719

Implemented: Mon Jan 13 2003

Since the Federation of Traumtal treats corporations as responsible citizens of its' community, I would suggest that the passage of such an act would first have to repeal Resolution #4. Further, I would request clarification on the "tax" itself, such as a formula for determining the costs, etc.
