:gundge: Not only do we use a fossil fuel for cars but weapons also. Does the term "gas-operated" make nay sense? :mp5: Anyway, not only would electric weapons conserve gas, they would also enable an automatic pistol instead of a single-shot. :sniper: This goes for sniper rifles to. We need automatic pistols to fight Terrorism. If the Anti-Terrorism Act passes, this would be a good addition to our advantage over terrorists and all enemies.

What in the world does FT and MT mean?
FT = Future Tech = ray guns, antimatter, spaceships.
MT = Modern Tech = the technology of today.
These are both Roleplay terms, used often in the NationStates and International Incidents forums.
FT=Future Time-Countries that use technolgies that dont exist and are well more than 100 years into the future. EX: Star Wars and Star Treck Countries
PMT= Post Modern Time-Counries that use technologies that are not currently feasable but could materialize in the next century. EX: Demon Lord Enigma
MT= Modern Time- Weapons that exist or could exist if someone bothered to build them. EX: Me, any Real Life Weapon country
AT= Anytime before 1990 RT
AT= Anytime before 1990 RT
Never heard this one before. I've heard of PT (Past Tech), but Never AT. Is this Ancient Tech? If so, I'd say it's a lot further back than 15 years. A lot of RW nations could fit that definition if you're talking purely technology levels.
Plus there's also MagiTek - any roleplay involving magic, spells, wizards, dragons etc.

Yes, this is a bit FT but this is the future of technology. This article I read in a book, it said these would be produced a couple of years from now so it isn't mega future tech. So, you have to see the advantages.

If the original poster is talking about the sort of thing I am thinking of, then not FT at all, but infact bleeding edge modern tech.

And to clear up the original posters misconception about what Gas-Operated means in reference to firearms.
Gas-Operated describes a process by which some of the expanding gases which propell the bullet are used to drive a piston to chamber the next round, not that the gun or ammo burns fossil fuel.

Greetings.
We of Roathin note that purely human technological conventions can be very confusing to the uninitiated. Our councillors attempted to classify pellet rifles driven by compressed gas pressure, our air-elemental powered wind cannon, and the above automatic-cocking weapons as gas-operated and merely expanded the confusion while failing to reduce the gas.

Policies regarding weaponry are best left up to the individual nations who will be using them and/or the individual persons who will be using or developing them. Considering the immense variety of weapons and the difficulty in limiting them appropriately in legislation by this body, we're better off letting those more familiar with the weapons making decisions about them.

In that case, banning bayonets and nuclear armanants are left up to each nation. Did we? No. This can cause a major advance in human tachnology.

I'm sorry, I'm confused by your statement. The UN has not banned bayonets (yet), and nor have we banned nuclear armaments. Indeed, the UN has protected national sovereignty when it comes to nukes.

What the f, more importently What the f. ok gas wepons are you a fag like seriosly people like you deserve to be shot by a good old fashioned desert eagle :mp5:
(you no a weapon not used by gas). ok automatic wepons are for people who dont know how to shoot what we need to focus on is a way to properly train our troops to use miniscule amounts of ammunition (fyi the average bullets used by gi's in vetnam was over 100 per kill. The average for :sniper: snipers was 1.3 shots per kill). What does that tell you, it tells me that snipers are much more efficient then GI's and also less caustly. if each bullet causts $0.22 .22x 100 = $22.00 now .22 x 1.3 =$0.29 do the math it is better to use regular semi-auto wepons.

and I suppose you'll be happy to provide the portable 1.6-gigawatt generator each soldier would require to power their weapons, as well as the personell required to operate and maintain the aforementioned generators at no cost?
