Hello, I wanted to get some publicity for my UN proposal, Repeal Resolution #30, "Common Sense Act II."

This act limits national sovereignty with no international improvement.

Please check it out, delegates. I need some support for it.

Thanks.

Repeal "Common Sense Act II"
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal
Resolution: #30
Proposed by: Moatillada

Description: UN Resolution #30: Common Sense Act II (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: In the interest of the basic sovereignty of the member nations of the United Nations,

in recognition that member nations may conduct the business of their courts in the way they see fit,

aware that the courts of member nations might understand UN Resolution #30, "Common Sense Act II," in many ways,

and acknowledging that this resolution is one of few that has absolutely no international effects and thus should be left to the discretion and sovereignty of the member nations,

NationStates United Nations hereby REPEALS UN Resolution #30 and declares it null and void,

and leaves the matter of "frivolous lawsuits" to the discretion of member nations individually.
It's considered polite to post the text of your proposal in its entirety.

I've always thought that resolution seemed a bit odd. Yelda approves your repeal.

Krioval approves - I always thought the original resolution was silly.

wait a minute--

isn't it pathetic that the act is called "common sense act II" and yet both of your replies say it's silly??

yes, yes it is pathetic.

It always struck me as rather, well, not common sense to call such a resolution 'Act II'. It's not like there was an Act I to follow up on, no entr' acte, and if we're talking Shakespearian, you need another three acts to round it out.

Hahahaha that's great. I can only assume Common Sense Act I was voted down. Then, I don't know, people felt bad for the guy or something.

Maybe I should have called it "Repeal 'Common Sense Act II' Again."

IIRC, "The Common Sense Act" reached quorum and was voted down. This was the second try, hence II.

That, or the first was deleted. I forget.

That makes sense. I think.
