Nay. Steroids aren't recreational drugs, are used medicinally, and if you want to legislate about drug use in sports you should use a separate resolution.

Back to the drawing board I'm afraid.

The Tonissian Definition of a Recriational Drug is Something that is not used for medicinal purposes. Steroids in sports are genrally used not for medicinal purposes but to gain an advantage in wichever sport the athlete chose. plus I specifficly said this was for sports only

We believe that it should be for the authorities of each competition to decide whether to allow the use of steroids by competitors. A particular sporting body may decide that if adults wish to choose to enhance their performance in that sport in various ways, that is to be permitted. This is a private matter between competitors and the organisers of competitions, not one for governments to interfere in. We would also note that despite the resolution stating that it is concerned with drugs in sports, this is not explicitly stated in the active clause "BANNING All Steroids whether they be pills, creams, or injects", so technically this bans all steroids even outside sports, including the corticosteroids used in asthma treatments, the steroids used in some nasal sprays for hayfever, and even the steroids produced naturally by living organisms, including humans. Given that steroids exist in more forms than the clause allows for, we would also point out that this sentence makes no sense, as its meaning rests on the premise that pills, creams and "injects" are the only forms in which steroids may be found.

Yea or nay

Nay

While higher leagues (OOC: eg: MLB, NHL, etc) should consider this heavily and start prohibiting steroid use, smaller leagues and minor leagues - while having the potential for some of their athletes to go to these drastic measures - do not have the sort of numbers in money made by both owners and players that it would not be a logical move to ban steroids (especially considering that this would also effect Junior leagues - how would you like your child to be tested for steroids every so often.....). I feel that _Myopia_ was accurate in his assessment that many leagues need to have the power to decide whether they wish to test for steroid use or not.

In this case - I would suspect that it is more a recreational drug use law than anything else - perhaps moral decency, but that would be just about it. Perhaps a mod ruling is in order.
