Human Rights, strong (!)

REALISING the risk Arctocephalinae pose to the free flow of regulated organic biomass through the obstruction of regulated organic biomass distribution systems.

FURTHER REALISING that the abundance of Arctocephalinae is a contributor to the increase in volume of saline dihydrous oxide expanses.

NOTING WITH REGRET the relative abundance of Arctocephalinae on dihydrous oxide rich ecosystems.

MANDATES the neutralisation of Arctocephalinae in all United Nations member states.

URGES nations to neutralise Arctocephalinae through the use of large potentially disruptive re-entry systems to assist in the energetic disassembly of Arctocephalinae, if they have such technology.

MANDATES nations without potentially disruptive re-entry systems, or that are unwilling to use them, to insert manual terrain alteration equipment into the sphenoid of all Arctocephalinae.

This proposal has our most enthusiastic support. In fact, we have decided to begin implementing it early!

Now, where did I leave my shovel...

Why not? We support it.

I must oppose this proposal. Although the representative from Cobdenia wants us to think that the proposal would only require the slaughter of seals, it is in fact an underhanded attempt to slaughter walruses as well. Walruses deserve our full support, and should not be smited simultaneously with seals.

How about "Irradicate Arctocephalinae" for the title? Arctocephalinae is just fur seals (the cute one's), but it sounds like a disease...

I like that suggested change. Go for it. Make sure to change it in the proposal.

We feel that it is important to point out that this resolution is critically flawed: while it aims for the removal of all seals from U.N. member states, delegates should note that the text of the resolution calls for the destruction of Arctocephalinae only. Unfortunately, only the fur seal subspecies of seals falls under this category, while leaving such other deviants such as the harbor seal untouched. For this resolution to truly have its purported effect, it would have to call for the elimination of all mammals of the family Phocidae, or the "true seals," as well.

EDIT: I'll point out that the inclusion of Phocidae will still leave walruses and such untouched. Those pesky sea lions, unfortunately, will also be spared, but we feel that this is an acceptable loss.

This gets our vote for MOST...AWESOME...PROPOSAL... EVER. We like it even more than Inflatable Gandalf!

Now, the only way to improve it would be to make it apply only to baby fur seals! They're squishier when clobbered.

Nah. You want it to apply to adults as well. They sometimes defend their young.

In other financial news this evening... stock share prices of Saint Urielian Excavating Equipment, Inc. went up 13% after reports of orders coming in from around the globe for massive numbers of shovels... Saint Uriel's Environmental Prefecture denies that this is related to the recent Cobdenian UN proposal...

*Henry Peabody, Minister to the UN, hands out maps to all delegates*

Honored delegates, since my nation has nuclear weapons at our disposal these maps list the remote breeding colonies of the fur seal in our territories and therefore are primary targets. Please be warned that in the event that this resolution is to pass you should plan to divert all international travel from these areas. There are several other paths to enter our nation. Sure the land will be unusable for generations, but a small price to pay to remove those boyancy hoggs.

Plus a bonus to slip in some ICBM testing also.

This is the best proposal. A perfect thing to give those no-good hippies a taste of reality!!! :D

Now where is my shovel?? Oh, there it is, beside the last hunted dolphin.

I wasn't going to submit it originally, but now I think I might...

A good telegram campaign (making it sound like Arctocephalinae is a disease, without actually saying it is) and this could reach quorum and pass

Do it. Anyone who need enriched uranium is welcome to buy it from Western Saxonia at low, low prices! 500,000 Lektals (about US$2mil) per megaton's worth! Nuke those seals in style!

I'm going to set up a new topic for this (Proposal: Irratdicate Arctocephalinae). Please don't post anything that gives away what the resolution actually does (in fact, everyone pretend you think it's a disease); you never know

I don't think you have to worry about whats said in the UN forum. Most delegates never come here anyway.
