Esteemed associates,

I am making this thread to bring your attention to an important proposal. Many of you are aware that there have been many environmental proposals; most of these have been accepted. I believe that these resolutions, if enacted, will and are at this moment beginning to choke the economy of every nation under the UN.

Therefore, I have decided to propose that we repeal one of these resolutions, Resolution #23, Replanting Trees. This is an unrealistic attempt to save the world; I believe it simply stops businesses from starting or growing.

In short, we need to repeal this resolution. If you are concerned about the environment, I have no doubt that a non-profit organization will be glad to accept your donations.

Repeal "Replanting Trees"
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal
Resolution: #23
Proposed by: Sparren
Description: UN Resolution #23: Replanting Trees (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The General Assembly,

NOTING that many member nations contain trees which are of great significance to their ecological and economic systems,

ACKNOWLEDGING that these trees are a healthy and vital source of oxygen for many peoples;

I. CONSIDERS that as a consequence of resolution #23, businesses which are necessary to the prosperity and comfort of their citizens may be discouraged from developing, and that the economy of many member nations may fall into depression due to the restrictions put into effect by Resolution #23,

II. REMINDS member nations that they can protect their forests through the efforts of their own national government, and that in many nations private citizens can purchase land to protect it from deforestation,

III. REPEALS United Nations Resolution #23 “Replanting Trees,” which states that any enterprise cutting down more than five acres of trees shall be required to replace all the trees.

I support this proposal, and will vote for it as soon as my Nation becomes a regional delegate (which should happen tonight.)

Thank you for your vote. This proposal, however, still needs more support.
