Please support our UN resolution "Slots for Schools." It can be found on page 11 of UN proposals.

We would like to legalize gambling with all casinos required to send 15% of their profits to fund both public and private education and schools across the world!!!!

Baby needs a new pair of shoes....and some new texbooks as well!!!!

M.O.S.S. Proposal. Please post the text of it here.

OOC: In my experience, this is a bad idea. Missouri itself passed a similar law several years ago. Once the money from casinos started rolling in, the Missouri government cut education funding by an amount equal to the revenue the schools gained from the casinos. In effect, Missouri's schools were screwed over by the law, and have been screwed over even more with the closings of some casinos and the No Child Left Behind Act. As it stands, Missouri schools have no chance of improving without first privatising, which in the long run will likely hurt the state as well.

I think that the casinos should send their money to schools because the price of school books is over rated and the teachers salaries are not even enough to to make them put up with the juvinials. This means that the they want more sick days and that won't fly with me. They need to teach our kids and if that means bringing in casino money to fund them, so be it. It boiles my insides to no end when I think about the many breaks all those teachers get from "sick days" and leav all those kids out there in school with no teacher and nothing to learn. They just sit at home and watch TV and sleep. They are not sick and the ones who are just pick the worst subs and don't care. If I had a dollar for every time one of the teachers came home because they can't handle one kid, I would solve world hunger and still fill the fridge. So, heres something for you to digest, if we don't get this money, your kid's won't give a dame. They won't know shit if you don't teach them and to do that, we need that casino money.

Greetings.

We begin to see how the monies might best be spent. It has become a question of developing the spelling capabilities of potential thaumaturges. Especially those who need to learn how to paragraph their spells.

That is an idea - fund education through the casinos and put the money we spend on education towards something else.... like bazookas.

I'm amused, albeit in a sad sort of way, that another nation's representative is upset that teachers can actually receive time off for being sick. I have heard of nothing in the annals of science that suggest educators are somehow the recipients of hyper-enhanced immune systems. But I digress from the proposal's intent.

Krioval has legalized gambling. Krioval allocates 11% of its general budget to education. So as it stands, if we mixed up all the money coming in, 11% of Krioval's share of casino revenue goes to education. We could play the shell game with funding, with this source of revenue going to a particular destination, but why bother? Legalize gambling or don't, but let's not play economic games.

I don't think this is a good idea for a UN proposal, however it would make a damn good issue, in my opinion.

So now the UN is going to tell me how to run my schools? Oh, perfect. I'd next like to see a proposal about the use of bathrooms at the auto factory, please.

The point....This another useless attempt to enforce educational values upon my country. Please keep your national thoughts to yourself, and allow those us who like, and fund our educational systems and teachers our way, alone.

I don't need any other nation telling me how to run my educational system, my casinos, or anything else.

Please...Stick to International relations, instead of telling me how to run my nation.

Thanks
