1. We already are
2. Most capitalists who aren't in the UN aren't in it because of the socialist reforms. We would have to eliminate them before they would join.
3. We can try, but they won't pass.
4. No comment

Could you please tell us which resolutions you find especially socialist, and can you explain why something socialist is inherently bad.

Actually, it's newb, but noob and n00b are both accepted in the forum vernacular. "Benifit" and "recrut" are not. :p

Is there something inherently wrong with free education, public healthcare or the like? I hope you're not one of those red-blooded patriots who think it inevitably leads to Soviet-style tyranny...

[COLOR=DarkRed]Ohhhh for the love of Thor,

Becoming a socialist means that you allow people to become lazy and do the minimal work they can possibly do because there is no incentive to work any harder. There are no rewards or penalties which leads to apathy.

A great example is medical care received in socialistic nations...A huge waiting line to be seen and with very poor results for what is the motivation to become a great Dr?

As for an example of socialistic resolutions, how about the last one forcing bankrupcy and encouraging progressive taxes.

Now if you say that's not socialistic...Then you worked into my last point and that is socialists are liars...COLOR]

Thank you

YAY! Circular logic.

If you say this proposal isn't socialist, you are a liar, because socialists are liars, and socialists wouldn't want to admit something is socialist. Therefore, by lying, you make yourself socialist, which means what you said must be a lie, because we know socialists are liars, don't we kiddies.

Try not to lump people together into differing political groups merely because you cannot comprehend the multitude of differing views in the political spectrum. Socialist is now used as often as "leftie"...

As for the rest of your points, I can't be bothered. I won't argue them here, this isn't General.

As the winner of The Puppy Burning, Hobbit Eating, Black Hearted Capitalist of the Year Award in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004 I'd say there are no resolutions that have passed that do not aid the cause of furthering the free market and free trade. For example, the 40 Hour Workweek homogenises workers therefore freeing trade. The Education Acts increase knowledge leading to better skilled workers. Similarly the Universal Healthcare Resolution leads to a healthier workforce.
However, I must say I am still waiting for a resolution to pass that abolishes all barriers and tarriffs, one of the most disgustingly unjust, uneconomical and utterly Victorian and rascist as it effectively says that one nation is superior to another.

RIP Lord Arnold Farquisson
Winner of The Puppy Burning, Hobbit Eating, Black Hearted Capitalist of the Year Award in 2002, who was accidentally run over repeatedly by a double decker bus, then accidentally fell onto a sword, then in the corse of trying to reach a hospital under his own power accidentally rolled down a bank into a river, where he where he would have drowned had he not been unlucky enough to have been hit by a stray bullet.

Yuk! Why Do nations persist in using such simple models? The left-wing and right-wing classifications are not the only considerations that should be made.

Not everyone is left or right wing - and there is certainly room in the world for both classifications, and everyone else besides.

But I agree the UN could do with a bit more variety in the political beliefs of it's members.

Spot on. Socialism is 'not' capitalism, but it is not the 'opposite' of capitalism if you follow me. (This is sort of a new theory of mine, I'll get back to you)

Anyway, if you ask me, the UN is in danger of becoming like the (OOC:) United States - deeply polarised.

1.I am guessing that they are already doing so, or else they would be incredibly stupid or corrupt.
2. If UN is so socialist, why would capitalist countries join it? How could they possibly benefit from that?
3. Impossible since the socialist are at the moment majority.

As someone said earlier, what is wrong with universial healthcare? You really don't have any real arguements, you just state socialists are liars.

Universal Healthcare will eventually colapse in on its self because of everyones demands for it and the fact that people would not like tax increases in order to pay for it.

better one Micheal Savage.com :D
OOC: Which Michael Savage, the one who claims that women like to be controlled and manipulated? The one who repeatedly says everybody he doesn't like is a neo-Nazi, or a slut, or any of another set of insults? The one who viciously insults the callers that don't pander to his every expectation, not to mention sometimes the people who do? The one who claims that those who disagree politically with him have mental disorders, and are a giant threat to their country?

Let's not listen to him, as he is not a good example of the Right. Inculding him is most likely just putting people off from your idea.

Welchmen, your ideas have very little to do with the NationStates UN, and would be better suited to General. Feel free to post or respond to topics there. This one is closed.
