Stop cheaters
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: TBOTE

Description: It has come to my attention that many of our UN nations are using as many as 6! Double accounts! But why haven't we stoped this? Because people who know about these accounts (example freinds) have allowed them to simply proceed. I demand that its not a nations choice to report these people but there duty!

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 150 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Sat May 28 2005

This proposal is illegal, as it refers to situations outside of the game. If you believe that someone is UN Multiing, then you can report them on the Getting Help page. Click on FAQ in the side bar, then on Getting Help.

Ya but that a choice thing... I was kinda of unsure if its valid. So is it like something that isn't worry of a UN decision?

It's just not something the UN deals with. We pass resolutions within the game as nations, not as players. This is about how the game works, so we can't pass resolutions on it.

Illegal.

And 6 is nothing. The National Stalinist Griefer had over 200 UN nations.

200! How on earth did they do that? 2Did they use 200 email addresses? That is shocking

There are many different ways to gain 200 UN Nations. Clone emails are lovely, as are...well nevermind that type of knowledge could be used wrongly.

OOC: WHAT???????????? Dude, you can't even propose this. The game is based upon the fact that every nation is played differently. If someone wants to have more than one...So be it. You can't control that, and you could never tell whether any person has more than one nation anyways.

IC: How do you plan on implementing this? The play....Wait!! What are we talking about? My country acknowledges that no account was created when Emperor Dark Wolf took power. Therefore, you will get no acknowledgement or approval for something that has no basis in our universe

OCC: Dude...You can't control anything outside what happens in game. Every account is treated as a seperate nations, plain and simple. You have no say in the number of accounts one person can create. Heck, the creators don't even have that say. Read the rules, It states one account per email address. How do you know how many email addresses I have?

Six is bad? I was running seven at one point.

No it doesn't, other wise I couldn't have used the same e-mail address for both of my nations.

OOC:

The FAQ states that you may only have one nation in the UN at a time, and that email addresses are used in part to determine that.

Besides, your argument is equivalent to something like: "I killed someone and no penalty has accrued. Hence there must be no rule against killing someone."

Roathin, that's why I used the same email address for all of my accounts. You can have as many accounts as you want, just as long as only one is in the UN. Hell, I had seven.

Greetings.

The revered Demon has made its point. We of Roathin have understood this from ancient times and are perfectly aware of the uses of a seven-branched candlestand. Hail Deimos.

Some blackmailed me as using two account cause I share a computer with my sister . Is there any way to fix this? IE: Using a worse computer on a router? And if I get my sibling to use a different computer with a different IP and then she rejoin the UN. Would that prevent someone from mailing fake reports to screw me out of delacy. I can't believe someone who was cheating is now abusing the rules to mess me out of being a delagate. I feel so voilated.

Questions about rules violations need to go to the Moderation forum (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1231) (clicky).

I can tell you that in most situations like this, the mods stick to the one-computer one-player rule and to keep both you and your sister´s nations in the UN you´ll need to access them on different computers.

Since this has ALREADY been raised in the Mod or Tech forums (I forget which, and can't be arsed to check), AND since this proposal is illegal and has already been removed, AND since the nation who proposed an illegal proposal against cheaters turned out to be an inadvertant cheater himself ... there seems to be little reason to keep this thread open.
