If the atomic weapons are banned, we have a situation on our hands:

"How will we resolve conflicts?"

This will sound weird, but i have a ideea:

We could bann war! Yes ,bann war! i am thinking that if you have a problem with another nation you would have to resort to the so called : "arbitrer of change" this will be a voted represantitive of all the nations.Actualy there would be 3 of them. They will resolve conflictsbetween nations. I propose a few simple laws to go with this:

1. Open, fair, fighting will be aproved, only if the fighting dose not last more that 3 days, and both armyes have not more that 5 000 men.And while in a battle, you are not allowed to kill people highter rank than you, and you are not allowed to kill unarmed or surrendered.
2. assasination attempts will be approved, but can only sent by the others nation president, emperor, etc. (no self initiatives) and the assasination is only 1 person (no 10- gangs attacking)

And ilegal:

1. kidnapping is not approved
2. neither is using spies

The arbriters of change will have to see that all of the above is respected, if not we the rest of the nations will attack the unobeying nation. Because there are 3 arbitrers: two of them will go to both sided "camps" and see that the rules are obeyed, and one will see that the two are folowing the rules as well (they will take turns).

First off: nation X is gona be attacked with full force by EVERYONE.
you don't have go threw tape ,etc. when you are attacked by a nation X, you are allawed to fight back. And if he uses more that the number of troops alowed you are allowed to fight back with full force, seing that you are a member of the UN states, right?

A bit of RL history that I feel is relevant:

The Kellogg-Briand Pact effectively declared war to be illegal in the wake of World War I. The idea was that the League of Nations would be able to coerce or force other nations into submission. The problem was that almost nobody took the treaty seriously, and those who did (France, for example), got pulverized the next time a war did break out (World War II). War can't be 'outlawed' as such, and if a resolution like that were to pass, there would either be a mass exodus from the UN or people would RP as if the resolution weren't there (or they'd redefine 'war' and 'spies').

"I'm not declaring 'war'! I'm performing humanitarian intervention by military means!" and "Those aren't 'spies'! They're information retrieval specialists!"

The proposal is also illegal, given the "Rights and Duties" resolution, which allows specifically for war between nations.

Nation-X is a non-member, he's allowed to use as many troops as he likes... Being under no legal restriction as such.

If only stopping war was that simple. Alas, it isn't that easy, and your proposal is contradictory too.

We would point out, the attempt by the Pretenama Panel to stop genocide in Crimmond was a abject failure on every level one could measure.

As such, any belief in the ability of the UN to "protect" it's own must be seen as... laughable. We therefore posit the ability of any UN force to "prevent war" while a bunch of bureaucrats in blue helmets come in to "resolve the situation peacefully" is equally laughable.

Peacenik nonsense belongs only in the fiction section. We find it is not read much in any case, save by those under delusions of the sensibility of others.

Its not total ending war, i admit. But wouldn't it be a better place to live in if we , at least, try to kep the kill count down? The last thing i would like to do is to call apon everyone to kill the unobeying nation. But if he desires war we can give him war! Just think 2 more steps in the future!

I don't like nation X (for any reason) because i'm a sneaky bastard i don't tell this right away. I start building war machines, i have in mind the laws, so i build only 5 000 (because i'm allso thinking of the lives of my people.

Nation X has some sort of spies on my ground that i don't know about, so he probably know i'm preparing for war, but i don't know with who. The wehicles are equiped for bad terain, and he knows i hate him. He probably know i'm gona attack him. I withdraw my spies, knowing that spies are ileagal, and the arbriter of change will come to inspect him, and me.I finaly make my intentions clear, only to the arbriters, then i move my army forward. This should be a conquest, and i have set the place for the battle.
Sposing i win the battle, the nation X's president flees, but the nation is still not conqered(there can be any numbers of battles, but we'r trying to keep the kill count down, right) the arbriters are now deciding the result of the conquest. I win, hourra! Now, i can claim the land. If nation X has more army on another planet, etc. He can come back and attack. But he must obey the rules. So on and so forth.

Look, dear silly one, if I want your nation razed and salted, I shall wait until you pass this moronic attempt at "peacemaking" - then have several NON UN NATIONS on whom this sort of resolution is NOT BINDING blow you into next week.

Thats assuming that everyone cares for thier people. I for one use them as cogs in my expansive military machine. Plus a ban on war would destroy my economy we are heavily reliant on Arms Manufacturing. :sniper:

4) we, as Human Beings I'm stating, are not able to get along for long(remember WWI? WW2? all the past wars prehaps?)
5) 90% of us have low tolerence of others in my observations.
6) I'm not the peaceful type(but I will not declare war on someone unless I'm doing it to perserve peace) like when a war happens between both Nations.

You assume people will be rational in war. That is a foolish assumption.

If Vastiva has cause to declare war on you, we will be firebombing your cities, poisoning your water, salting your fields, and nuking your armies. We are not going to sit around and wait while some blue-helmeted bureaucrat flips a coin - our action will be to summarilly eliminate you, your people, and everything you own from the face of the planet.

What is better, if your proposal passes, we will declare war on you while in the UN, leave the UN while you wait on the bureaucratic fool, commit mass extinction on your people - then rejoin the UN, having committed no act while part of the UN which violates the resolutions.

Especially the bits like 'If this resolution passes, I'm gonna leave the UN!'. Peh. I wouldn't leave the UN, I'd create a puppet nation, with a sham government under my personal control, whose sole purpose is to create a large military force and declare war on my enemies. I would be a non-agressive peaceful UN member with several trade rivals who want me dead, and the Armed Republic of Puppetistan would be a wildcard military force outside of the UN who for unknown reasons attacks all my enemies with unrestricted military force. This resolution is amusing but fanciful.

my military now has 3.8 million Soldiers and I WILL declare War on the idiot who posted this stupid thread when I know I'll have support or I can safely engage in war against him without anyone intervening for his sake(if none of this can happen then I WILL lay down arms against him) but right now I feel like tearing out his guts and ripping his military to shreds(thanks to my new "Star Destroyer" ship I can orbitally bombard him)


I also have new weapons.

I WILL declare War on the idiot who posted this stupid thread.
In-Character threats of war, especially n00bish threats, don't really belong in the UN.
