If all nation states are equal in the global community of the Un then the two endorsement proposal for states to reccomend resolutions is despotic and antidemocratic all states should have equal votes and privilages with regards to UN legisltion and that we should have these rights not just delegates representing the regions

do you have a proposal to go with this? if so, i will immidialty call you on the illegality of submitting such a proposal, as it violates game mechanics.

Delegacy and recommendatory aspects are different concepts.

Delegacy occurs through the endorsement process. That is, one delegate per region, and that is determined by the endorsements received by that region (it is electorial)... Thus, member-states represent their own state, Delegates represent the region. This is the normative "two house" concept of representative democracy.

That's funny, it doesn't seem to me as though the NSUN is a hypocracy.
Hypo-, menaing 'below, under, beneath, or lower', and -cracy, meaning 'a form of government or a state having such government'.
I hadn't noticed that people below me ruled over me.

Perhaps you meant 'hypocrisy'?

I don't have a problem with regional power being linked to UN-wide power. It diversifies the voting pool to a more representative measure (if the only people who joined the UN were those interested in proposals and resolutions, it'd be a more lopsided sampling). And delegates' power in UN votes makes it easier to manipulate outcomes ;)

If all nation states are equal in the global community of the Un...
That's where your whole argument fails. They're not all equal. Some are more equal than others. Which is why campaigning for the position of Regional Delegate in bigger regions is part of the game - because it's fun to seek power by political means.

Did you think the UN was a democracy? Hehehehe ....

If all nation states are equal in the global community of the UnIf being the operative word. Where di you get that impression from?then the two endorsement proposal for states to reccomend resolutions is despotic and antidemocraticNo it's not. Delegates are elected after all.all states should have equal votes and privilages with regards to UN legisltion and that we should have these rights not just delegates representing the regionsthat's a games mechanics proposal - has about as much chance of being approved as I do of growing wings, and winning the lottery whilst being simultaneously struck by lightning

while i understand the sentiments, this is a game Mechanics issue and has no place in this Forum.

for the record, we dissagree, how can the Realm of Hibernia, a region of 44 nations have equal voting status with the East pacific ? a region with 7000 nations +.

Well all I wanna say is that if EVERYBODY could make proposals there would be 1,000+ proposals for new resolutions every day!

However, I do disagree that people with 2 or more endorsements can make proposals and people with 1 or 0 cannot. That just doesnt seem fair to me, even though I have 2 endorsements ;)

Are you actually saying that it would be stupid to allow everyone to make proposals, but we should let everyone make proposals? Doesn't that strike you as a bit, well, contradictory?

To be frank, I've grown bored with it. I came here for the excitement and lately it seems monotonous. So, I've resigned my puppet from the UN. Perhaps, in the future, I'll decide whether or not to return.

From now on if a tread bores me i will give it a DLE Boredom rating where 1 is slightly boring and 10 is please kill me i am so bored.

this thread has a DLEBR of 6

thank you. yawns!
