Idea for new resolution.

I cannot prepose for any yet but I had an idea for one that could most likely help.

it mainly comes as seeing AIDS/HIV the only diseases in the spotlight that get spred most of the time through the act of sexual intercourse, which people will have with this or without it. This is not to stop people from having sex for a religous reason this is to help them have it safely.

But summed up this resolution is this:

The spred of S.T.D.'s (Sexualy Transmited Diseases) are wide spread now days, and the spotlight needs to be brought to them enough to where something should be done about them, not only do they cause harm to the people who had intercourse but also effect millions of children world wide whom are subject to having these diseases as well.

The changes made by this resolution are as follows:

1: Research funding increased to cure or prevent spread of the current uncureable diseases.
2: Education to those who do not know about the dangers of these diseases made easily accessed.
3: Testing, and medical treatment for these diseases made more widespred and avalable to even those who cannot afford it.

HIV/AIDS are not the only problem in this world, but this resolution can also help that battle by far and help those who have been swept under the carpet by other problems.

Can I get aid on bringing this into voting, as my nation is small and does not have the voice to bring this into the eyes of the UN

Previous resolutions about disease prevention:

Keep the world disease free! (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7029596&postcount=10)
Needle Sharing Prevention (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7030205&postcount=68)
Epidemic Prevention Protocol (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7243294&postcount=78)
NS HIV AIDS Act (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8012656&postcount=85)

These are just the ones that are similar to your idea. Please make sure you read through them before making a proposal on the topic of diseases - we don't like resolutions doubling up.

I did read them, yes they are simlar but in ways they are diffrent.

NS HIV AIDS Act was for HIV/AIDS directly, which can be spred by other means then just sex.

Needle Sharing Prevention again was pointed at HIV/AIDS had nothing to do with sex.

Epidemic Prevention Protocol is how to deal with a major outbreak, which some STD's can go unnoted

Keep the world disease free! was for things like Malaria, typhoid, rubella, cholera, polio which are caused by unclean living places.

The spred of STD's are normaly overlooked from resolutions like those listed. As these diseases are a little harder to spred, but still cause major damage and can become an extreme problem if left alone.

if we have resolutions for every individual desease, the UN is going to be clogged up. we were against the recent small pox one on that basis. if you can come up with one that can cover most life threatening deseases, we will support you, but as it is, we see this as another piece of paper clogging the system

Well this is more the thing where we might want to rework the disease system,
as there are so many types/ways to be spred and some areas need more assistance on all times then others.

As this would be more helpful in 3rd world countries, but also incourage the wealthier nations maybe to put alittle more thought into it.

Alright. I'll be a bit less evil than normal. You may have a good resolution. Please note that all comments may appear to be train of thought but that I have already read your post before replying.

Smallpox is another one. HIV and AIDS are also pretty much the same thing. You can't exactly have one without the other.

But summed up this resolution is this:

STDs are not the only diseases widespread. Humanity is still struggling with cancer (later evolutions of humanity, having more stable genetic codes, don't have this problem), the common cold, and hundreds of other diseases.

The changes made by this resolution are as follows:

1: Research funding increased to cure or prevent spread of the current uncureable diseases.

Great. First you need to do research on the spread. DLE has two diseases with an unknown method of infection, one of which infects the nerves in the abdomen. The other has multiple methods of spread, but the spread from parent to child uses an unknown mechanism only observed in the first disease. To make it worse, both diseases are viruses.

2: Education to those who do not know about the dangers of these diseases made easily accessed.

I like this.

3: Testing, and medical treatment for these diseases made more widespred and avalable to even those who cannot afford it.

I'm not too hot on this, but I'm willing to support.

Hmm.

Can I get aid on bringing this into voting, as my nation is small and does not have the voice to bring this into the eyes of the UN

Maybe. First, we need a draft.

Yeah this was the draft, I realized I forgot to label it as so. I knew there would be some problems so I wrote it as simply as possible so the main idea gets through and ideas can be added without overshadowing another part of it.

I think enfasis [sp] should be put on educating people, and woman especially that there is more in life then having as many kids as you can (areas with high infant mortality rates seem to do this alot.).

For some reason the bit about having sex for religion went over my head. It may be simply because I am athiest but it would help if you could clear this up.

You might want to add something like this:

Infection-blocking contraception must be made freely available to everyone.

I.e., if anyone asks for a condom the government must give it to them. (Even if they are too young to have sex legally? I think so, but others won't)
