The world is obviously a vrey united and communicating place. Telegrams are wired from nation to nation and messages are posted on Open Forums. We, at Rayoa, believe that we should be knowledgeable of wars, major economic events, etc. that go on in the world that we can't read about. countries changing their trade policies, countries warring on countries, regions on regions. We should institue an international News Broadcasting Network, put on by the United Nation. Now, obviously, Rayoa has not enough access to do such a thing, but maybe those with that much access could act on this? wink wink. As a member of the UN, I am concerned about the world, and wished to be informed on what's going on in it.
suggestions:
a daily news briefing mailed to each nation's mailbox which was forwarded from the regional delegates which was forwarded from the UN officials. Let's get this together and become more active in eachother's lives.

Not to dump all over your idea at the start, but the way you have phrased it would require some new coding in to the game to make it happen. Which makes it, under UN rules, illegal and unlikely to happen.

i don't think it would require a change in game code, just a little more coordination between nations and regions

That's game code.

Also, the UN doesn't control or participate in NationStates regions at all. Many regions have mixed UN and non-UN nations. The UN has no power whatsoever over non-members, so it can't do anything with regions.

Sorry, it's a fine idea, but it's illegal.

If you're suggesting that the human players prepare and transmit news reports around, well, that takes time. Right now, one of my puppets (or am I his puppet ;) ), Ayaddha, is running the Ayadi News Network (ANN) and trying to cover just the Malgerian War. I could easily spend an hour a day "reporting" on that war alone. And I have a job, a wife in convalescence, a house to clean, bills to file, a social calendar to keep up.

NS is a game, not our lives.

I imagine that you could probably use the search functions to keep up on news of interest to you, if you got creative with them.
