Possible proposal: Ethical bank

The idea is simple: make compulsory for all UN agencies, entities and similar to use the Ethical bank for their funds. Ethical bank assures that funds aren't used to finance arms trading, high rate loan to poor nations and similar.

Category: social justice or moral decency?

If someone would write the proposal, for me it's ok.

"Hello, Ethical Bank? Hi, this is Frisbeeteria. Yes, I'll hold. ... "

"Hello? Ah yes, this is Frisbeeteria. I'd like to deposit my Sense of Fair Play and my Commitment to Do the Work Assigned to Me. Also, I have some spare Tendencies to Tell the Truth piling up in a drawer that I won't be needing ... "

"... yes, that's right. I see the news gets around. No, I won't be needing most of my ethics, now that they've made me a NationStates Forum Mod."

Somewhere in Krioval:

"Hellfire, man! No arms trading?! That's what Krioval does, ya know?!"

Official statement to the United Nations, several hours later:

"The Commander wishes to express that Krioval will not be supporting this proposal as it would likely be detrimental to our economy and our regulation thereof. We apologize for any negative impression this leaves on other members of the United Nations."

Hey Fris, if you aren't using your ethics right now, can I borrow them? I've heard ethics come in handy sometimes, but I wanna take them for a test-drive before I go out and by some of my own.

The delegation would like to suggest that the proposal is aimed at arms sales to traffickers, terrorists, and other radical groups. Therefore, you can still deal your arms, just not sell them to the people who will wreck your government.

We find this proposal unethical.

It would have the effect of starving poor people for cash, because if a bank can't lend to a risky client at a high loan rate, they won't lend at all.

Alternatively it would lead to politicized loan decisions, propping up incompetent and corrupt governments and consigning their citizens to continued poverty.
