The Act of Periodical Review
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Resistancia

Description: I will preface this resolution in stating that due to the broad nature of this resolution, we are unsure of which category this would fall into.

The object of this resolution is the periodical revue of previous resolutions by the regional delegates to the UN. This will occur every six months, and will:

REMOVE resolution repealed based on redundancy due to later resolutions, and the related repeal resolution.

INTERGRATE resolutions covering similar subjects into one resolution

REMOVE resolutions that have been furthered and/or surpassed by latter resolution.

The object of this is to:

CLARIFY resolutions so they are easier to implement

REDUCE the number of repeal resolutions based on redundancy

REDUCE the discrepancy between interpretations of parts of resolutions by member nations

in submitting this proposal, we realise that there is too much clutter in the current UN resolutions. many cover similar areas, some are superseded, and it is just a mess that needs to be cleaned up.

Resistancia, you've been putting out a lot of proposals lately. Some of them are OK. Some of them (the Smoking Ban, despite my IC dislike of it) quite good. This one is illegal on so many levels that you're likely to get ejected from the UN over it.

You need to reread Before you make a proposal... [READ THIS BEFORE SUBMITTING OR GET EJECTED FROM UN] (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=282176). Carefully and closely.

in response there is only one area that i can see this beeing deemed illegal, and that is in the game mechanics. and even then, i believe it would have little affect, if any on this part. it is not restricting either the proposal or repeal systems in place. we, the Rogue State of Resistancia, find going through all the resolutions to be a chore, especially when there are many that can be encompassed in a single resolution. we also take into note the amount of repeal resolutions being proposed on the basis that the resolution is redundant and superseded by other resolutions. if this proposal is indeed deemed illegal, we would agree with its removal as we do not want to be expelled, but believe something needs to be done to clear up the mess of multiple and repealed resolutions.

as for the submission of a lot of resolutions, we are admitedly a new nation, and we do have concerns about issues within the UN.

This proposal violates NationStates rules and has been removed.

Be aware that you can be permanently ejected from the UN for submitting bad proposals.

something needs to be done to clear up the mess of multiple and repealed resolutions.
A number of people have been working on repealing the repetative and unnecessary resolutions for awhile now. (i.e. the recently passed repeal of "Education for All") Work on writing repeals of resolutions you think are unnecessary to try to clean things up. Yes, they will still be "on the books," but they will no longer have the double-effect on the UN nations as they do now.

Just an idea. :D

that was the idea of this, to clear up all the clutter. maybe it will be an idea for the next version. this proposal has been removed, so maybe the mods should lock this thread
