A new charter? To be compared with what, exactly?

Well, since you bring it up, good point. As it stands, the UN 'charter' is actually that inflexible set of rules set out in that sticky on the UN forum page [regardless and in spite of any resolution members write]. I guess I'm suggesting, then, that it should be changed from a moderators charter to a UN charter proper.

I consider your proposal to be, well, ambitious, but I'm uncertain that it will garner a great deal of support, especially among those who currently find utility with the current system.

Ah, you know. You have to push the boundaries once in a while. The UN in a game like this would be a great idea if it was implemented properly. The only reason it is not is because it would be too much work for the moderators. I can understand that, but a shame.

I've already been kicked out of the UN, so maybe I'll be ejected from the game next.

What makes you think that the UN isn't functioning just fine as it is? People have been playing this game for years, and (as far as I am aware) the UN has only changed twice in that time - the introduction of the search engine, and the introduction of the repeal process.
Why should it change now?

You are entitled to your opinion, and obviously it suits you fine [no attempt here to patronise].

It would do no good to state my reasons as the mods have already made their position on this quite clear.

I agree with Enn. I think that the current UN rules are fine. I mean, this is a light-hearted game (my opinion only) and the UN game mechanics make a fine job of emulating the world and making it decent and overall, enjoyable for everyone.

Gee, I hope you submitted that. It will be your third warning for putting in inappropriate proposals.

Amusingly enough, attempting to change the UN rules through a UN Proposal is... against UN rules.

You seem to be on a crusade here. How about you write a proposed rule-set for review? I've been considering rewriting the UN Proposal rules anyway; largely because I'm the one hitting the Proposal list the most.

Obviously that was my intention, you over zealous geek.

Hm, I feel I'd have to have some inkling of how proramming worked to do that - wouldn't I?

Not in the slightest. Rulesets don't involve the code in the slightest.

Interesting! :)

What sorts of changes (major) do you have in mind?

Haven't even hit rough draft yet, but I'm thinking of comparing Enodian Law to current case law. Hopefully reducing ambiguity and codifying things a bit. I'm currently too busy with RL and IC things to do something like this, but, hey, input from players is a way to stall. ;)

Judging from the French, I'm guessing one major change he'll be working on is necromantic revival of dead people.
