Repeal "Citizen Rule Required"

A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal

Resolution: #8

Proposed by: Northern Nukeland

Description: UN Resolution #8: Citizen Rule Required (Category: The Furtherment of Democracy; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: This bill impeads on the sovereignity of all nations. The U.N as a body should not have the power to tell countries how to govern their people. That is a blatant breach of national sovereignity. If all nations had the same government the U.N would be the only government and that is never a good thing. That leans towards a world government new world order kind of thing.

I urge all members to vote for this and instead help the U.N clean up. The original resolution just reeks of corruption and it is time the U.N started following protocal because technically it goes against the U.N charter to tell other nations how to govern. Blatant disrespect for the national sovereignity of all nations. The U.N is designed not to hold the power impead on national sovereignity. Now I know my country has it's enemies, but lets put our differeces behind and get this resolution repealed and get right to work on a replacement.

I think the repeal needs to be better-written (and I'll gladly help if you so desire) but I definitely agree that the resolution should be repealed.

You have a point. I did it on the spot and I really should have written taken a few more days to actually do it in the right format, but if that is what is holding this thing back then I will just re write it once it gets voted down.

This makes, sense we the people of Integrated America, do not stand for such as seen. The UN does not encroch our sovereignty, most matters the UN does have input into the strength of my country. This resolution seems to encourage rebellion.

I'm indifferent to that resolution for the simple reason that Krioval has a partially elected government. A bang-up job on this proposal might convince me to support it, otherwise the official position of our government is:

"Meh."

The whole point of the NSUN is to breach sovereignty. It has that power and uses it. Your whole repeal is based upon a false argument.

As has been shown time and time again in this forum - sovereignty don't mean jack! This is the NSUN, not the IRL UN.

OOC: Wrong! Please read the FAQ and the sticky threads in this forum before you try to dictate what the NSUN can and cannot do.

Blatant disrespect for the national sovereignity of all nations. The U.N is designed not to hold the power impead on national sovereignity.Maybe the RL UN is designed that way but not the NSUN.

While I wouldn't mind seeing this resolution repealed, this repeal is not the way to go.

I here where you guys are coming from but you must understand, the world will be a horrible place if their was only one government. The U.N. maybe different in Nation States but the principal of absolute power corrupts aboslutely still carries over. I will rewrite this proposal and I urge you all to at least take a good hard look at it.

Come now, the purpose of the UN has been discussed over and over... At Nationstates.net, it's too impose your own worldview on others. In reality, it should be an alliance promoting common sense and defining obvious evil--not controversial moral or ethical issues.

Is everything going to be just repeals from now on?

Can't help it. The n00bs love repeals. Especially when they don't even understand the basis of the UN.

The more I think about it, the more I notice the the NS UN runs more like the Real-life european union rather than the RL UN.

The EU has the power to go over nations in most matters, and so does the NSUN....
