This act:
Recognizes that amazing breakthroughs have been made in science and technology, and that they should be put to use to benefit humanity.

Recognizes that many deadly diseases still plauge Earth, taking thousands of lives every year, and that it is the duty of the internationally community to assist in finding cures.

Recognizes resolution #32 "Global AIDS Initiative and

Asserts that more needs to be done in order to rid the world of terrible diseases

Appeals to all nations to make a concerted effort to promote the cures of disease.

Proposes that all memeber nations of the United Nations establish a research facility for major diseases of the time period.

Proposes that member nations make reasonable effort to maintain the research facility with regular updates and care.

Proposes that all findings of each individual research facility be stored in a global database, the Disease Research Initiative Database.

Proposes that all member nations attempt to manufucture any cures that are found for their citizens.

Concludes by stating that the international community has the power to reach out and give hope to those who struggle for it during a battle with a terrible disease.





I really feel as though this is a major problem facing society and the international community needs to do something about it. I would like to hear your thoughts on this act both ways pro and con.

Each individual government would have to establish the facility. Each government would have to make the building. This act is just requiring that each government do research. So this is kind of a directive of the United Nations. Basically it is calling upon governments to research for cures for terrible diseases. If the government already has such a building, they just need to maintain it, and then release the findings.

That is really what i think the problem is. If one county finds a breakthrough, it should be in a global database so that all nations can use it.
