I saw this one and it made me chuckle. Well, the underlined parts did... hehe
Redefinition of 'Poverty'
A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.
Category: Social Justice
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Fritz von Splurgenhof
Description: We would redefine the word 'poverty' as a medical condition.
Thus doctors would be able to proscribe certain cash sums in order to relieve the burden of poverty from members of UN nations.
As everyone knows, doctors are completely incorruptible and are never politically or morally biased and would therefore be able to oversee a redistribution of wealth through national health budgets. This redistribution would create a more level playing-field for poorer individuals to remove themselves from the downward spiral into poverty.
A vote for this proposition is a vote for a truly effcient and incorruptible redistribution of wealth.
Approvals: 7 (James Ellis, Darkwater9, Little Cambodia, Cihlar, WZ Forums, Pbar, Oleria)
Status: Lacking Support (requires 139 more approvals)
Voting Ends: Mon Feb 14 2005
