I wanna know how everyone feels about nations who are making clones

Do you think people who have nations that are cloning should be allowed to join the UN?

???

OOC: grammatically, your question parses as an attempt to keep certain british animal husbandry experts from playing this game.

What did you really mean?

Mr. Secretary-General, I note that the representative from Twilight_Sky has offered the following proposal on this topic:

Clones are People too

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Twilight_Sky

Description: This is so that people who have nations that are cloning people aren't restricted and get kicked from the UN for what other people think is Immoral, maybe to the people who's nations do that, think its great and not immoral Just because you think its unethical doesn't mean we can reject them please people vote for allowing the clone nations to join

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 145 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Sun Feb 13 2005

As there are no restrictions onto what nations can join the United Nations, I find this proposal superfluous at best and a rules violation at worse. Therefore, I raise a point of order that this proposal changes the rules relating to the UN and therefore would be a change in "Game Mechanics".

Clones are already granted rights by the UN. Anyone who bothered to read the passed resolutions would know this.

*cough* Nope, isn't a rules violation. And it's already been done.

What has already been done? I haven't been around much in the past year, so I may be a little shaky on some of the newer precedents....

Pojonia has been registering the more sentient of its Pojo population as "citizens" for some time now. I don't believe there's really any restriction on what you can call civilians, as long as you have a good definition at the start of the nation.

Uh huh. And next thing I know, you'll say that no nation should allow polygamy, polyandry, or a person to have both a husband and a wife.

The Irish Brotherhood would do well to make such a pronouncement. Such things are perversion and should be banned. Those who engage in such acts should be harshly punished.

Down with the liberal UN!

Anyway, Moulin Rouge* State, what are you doing in an organization that you despise?

Hmm?
Perfectly normal over here in our land. It's part of the culture.

Down with the liberal UN!
If you don't want to be part of the UN, then why, pray tell, did you join?

Which includes most of my empire, which by this point can't have any more sexual freedom without crossing the species border (xenophobia prevents that).

OOC in best elmer fudd voice: no, it should be vewy vewy quiet!

IC: This is the point in the debate where I cry "National Sovereignty!"
Of course we should be allowed to clone people. That's obvious to me, anyhow.

So please don't go legislating your morality into the legal code of my nation.

First off, to deal with the title ;

" Clones Are People Too "

How-ever, most people are idiots. So I don't see how this could help clones. Mind you, since a clone ( In the pure form of the concept ) is a exact copy of it, then a clone of a human would by definition be a cloned human, and there-for just that, a human. See, simple.

I wanna know how everyone feels about nations who are making clonesI have no problems with it on the whole.Do you think people who have nations that are cloning should be allowed to join the UN?Even if I did have a problem with them, which I do not, we ( U.N. members like I assume you are ) cannot put limitations on who may join the U.N. nor may we use the U.N. to propose changes to game rules to restrict membership to any one " group " of nations on any basis of entry.

Of course clones are people... who ever said otherwise?

Oh.. and I would just like to point out that identical twins are nature's versions of clones.

When you get into cloning for the purpose of stem cell harvesting.... that's different. Gflekers generously offers the technology of reproducing stem cells to anyone who has need of it. No charge.

We prefer harvesting from fetuses designed to overproduce stem cells and never to manifest a brain of any sort. Gives the poor something to do.

in my happy litle empire clones are used in hunting as cheap and afordible prey wich has no effect on any real forna. and yes cloaning is cheap due to the do it yourself cloaning kits at two hundred shillings :sniper:
