Global Citizenship
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Hussaini

Description: The Resolution if passed would form a committee which would once in 5 years.
1. SELECT 3 honorable people from all around the world for their exceptional services towards humanity
2. AWARD them GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP.

"GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP" means the persons holding this type of citizenship can move freely all around UN member countries without the need of visa. Their existing passport would be null and void and a new UN endrosed passport would be issued. The Global Citizen would have the same rights which have been assigned to the citizens of the countries he would desire to move. The GLOBAL CITIZEN can relocate himself to any country at any desired time without any RESTRICTIONS.

3. The GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP issued cannot be repealed.
4. The existing Wife & Blood Children of the personalities would also be a awarded the same GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP.
5. The GLOBAL CITIZEN's name would be entered into Hall of Fame of the UN.
6. THERE CANNOT BE ANY AGE/SEX/RELIGION BARRIER FOR AWARDING GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP.
7. The member UN states should fully CO-OPERATE in establishing the committee and establish concrete practices in their Interior Ministries.

Voting Ends: Sun Feb 6 2005

One of the Nations asked me about the taxation.
The taxation would be general, wherever the GLOBAL CITIZEN resides, he/she has to follow the tax rules as a normal citizen would.

I don't know why it was deleted. It would have been modified.
Anyways I have resubmitted it with more clarifications.

The UN is not a single nation organization. It doesn't matter us if one or more nations term it as stupid. Let it be there and lets see if passes the Delegation.

It is indeed illegal to make a resolution un-repealable.

I meant to say that the Citizenship cannot be repealed and not the resolution, anyways it is better now.

Physical impossibility. Quite a few nations in the UN are on other planets and, as such, that automatically places restrictions on travel to and from them.

Just give them a medal or something. If they want to move to a country that is not thiers then they must go about it just like every other person.

You're not serious. This would create insane security risks and make it impossible for governments to keep tabs on their own citizens.

I think it'll work better if you make the children's global citizenship temporary, lasting only until they are X number of years old.

4. The existing Wife & Blood Children of the personalities would also be a awarded the same GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP.

I have a question on this clause. What if the person has kids after recieving the GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP are they automatically given it, or do they have to earn it for themselves?

You also might want to change wife to spouse because with the way it's worded now, it sounds like only men and lesbians can get this award.
