The Basic Military Sciences (BMS) Education Initiative
The Bleeding Cross

Hey, check out this creative UN proposal that will raise Military and Police budgets greatly by teaching high school students the basics of military warfare.
Just search under BMS
:sniper:
I wouldn't vote for this if someone held a knife to my throat and told me to. Aside from the fact that I object to such a drastic increas in the military and to forcing children to learn such skills, I also object to the parts of this proposal that discriminate against women, such as making infantry training for males only.
Again a newbie with the sniper smiley! What is the allure?

Sounds pretty much like the Boy Scouts to me. Minus the Christianity part.

Sounds like a M.O.S.S. proposal to me.

I would never approve of such a thing and any who would, should have charges brought up against them for supporting such propeganda.

That seems extreme.
I just can't decide who has the scarier country name, Anaxagorasia or The Bleeding Cross.
We want to teach teenagers to kill? I think my generation is violent enough already, thanks.
Now drop this idea or I'll shoot you in the head, drench you in gasoline, and set your balls on fire.
_Myopia_

Ok first, your proposal assumes that the solution to the world's problems (undefined as they are) is to teach everyone the workings of military forces (and assuming this is a reaction to terrorism, remember that you'll be educating some who will grow up to use that military knowledge against your causes too). Why is the study of, say, conflict resolution or international politics not deemed at least as important?
Second, you're assuming all nations have an American education system. Students in _Myopia_ do not attend high schools, nor do they receive high school diplomas. We have no idea what a GPA is, either. We have qualifications in each subject separate - that is, the idea that you must succeed in one particular subject in order to gain your qualifications does not fit at all in our education system.
Third, you are infringing on the rights of our children to be pacifists.
Fourth, we find the following passage deeply disturbing:
It will also show today's youth the fun and excitement the military has to offer
The use of military force should never be regarded in any way but seriously. To promote the military, and thus by association military action, as "fun", is both disrespectful of those who have been killed in wars and dangerous.
Fifth, the whole concept of your proposal is anathema to _Myopia_. The state should always be a servant to the citizens, never the other way around. Your proposal promotes the concept that citizens owe a responsibility to serve the state by doing violence.
