My fellow UN Memebers and Deligets, I come to you with a very shaky issue that needs to be resolved. And that issue is Gambling! The whole theory of gambling is total nonsense! People go into casinos to waste their money, only to walk out with empty pockets! :headbang: Whcih then causes them to go into bankrupcy, or crimes to steal money :mp5: , or other methods which allow them to get out of their current situation! And without gambling, there would be no need for government supported help groups for addicted gamblers, therefore, saving countries thousands of dollars. So join my country in the fight againest gambling! And make this world a better place!
PS: I'm going to need some Endorsments in order to get this off the ground, so if your in support of this, leave a message with your support, and Give your endoresmant to the country of Reeker of Awesomenessy. Remember! Your support will change this world! :) :) :) :) :) :)

1) Only people in your region can endorse your nation.
2) Gambling is a tax on people without enough common sense to bother checking odds of winning or realizing the systems are often fixed.
3) If people used common sense, gambling wouldn't be a problem.
4) My nation doesn't have help programs for those who lose all of their money to gambling. Nor would the people stand for such programs to exist. The mejnots got themselves into the situation, they can get themselves out.

Well, if you'd like to ban gambling in your nation, go ahead. More profit for me.
Anyhow, I agree with DemonLord's assessment. People who fall into those bankruptcy due to gambling are people who are stupid enough to gamble and not stop in the first place. Let them help themselves.
However, if you'd put out a proposal forbidding minors from gambling (or do we already have something like that?), and maybe, like for tobacco, alcohol, and drugs, create a fund to put out an ad campaign warning of the ill-effects of gambling (You couldn't make any scientific claims like "Gambling is an addiction." but things like, "If you spend you're life gambling, you could waste away all you've worked for.") i'd be all for that.

Yet another resolution geared to absolving individuals of responsibility for their actions. Better to let the government make the decision than *gasp* be an adult!
I think I'd rather see a resolution banning smiley use in proposals than to see this one pass.

You all have a couple of good points. But whereas some people believe that othesrs should be adults and avoid gambling, it can be incribly difficult. One TRUE story is that once, a woman who had a gambling addiction lost over $3,000 dollars in a casino. She knew that she had to get herself some help, so she joined a self-help group and sign this list from that casino, saying that if she ever went into that casino, that they had the right to throw her out. Well, the program didn't work, and she snuck into the same casino and lost more money.
But a good point was brought up about a campaign to help people addicted by running ads. And to kinda even things out, pass a law that forces casinos to fund for one gambling addiction commerical (or whatever) for every one of their ads for the casino.
And this reminds me of a really great proposal for housing devolpments and stuff, like that. So look out for that one too!
