Well-written and concise. It addresses an international issue. Unfortunately, it also addresses that issue on a national level, so I can't support it. Good work, though. I wish you luck. :)

I would recommend, that if you want more approvals, to post a copy of the proposal here, so that people may comment on it better.

I read your proposal, but did not see enough necessity for the legislation to approve it.

No Punishment Without Law Act
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Aligned Planets

Description: 1. No one shall be held guilty of any criminal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a criminal offence under national or international law at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the criminal offence was committed.

2. This Article shall not prejudice the trial and punishment of any person for any act or omission which, at the time when it was committed, was criminal according to the general principles of law recognised by civilised nations.

3. This Article serves to reinforce the principles laid down in Resolution #21 and Resolution #47, entitled 'Fair Trial' and 'Definition of Fair Trial' respectively, whilst adding additional clarification to the legal process.

The sovereign state of Arbalia recognizes the importance of said resolution but suggests a revision to only affect United Nation members on an international scale. As a sovereign state, I, nor my parliament, can endorse a resolution that directly effects my people and our own judicial system. I must decline to vote for said resolution if it comes to vote.

Oh, I like this and will ask Groot Gouda to consider endorsing it, after bringing it to the attention of my fellow International Democratic Union members.

I like this proposal... It adresses an issue of international importance and IMHO doesn't violate national sovereignty as it only reaffirms a general principle of law (which is exactly what the UN should do). The references to other Resolutions on legal processes also add to its value.

The Incorporated States of All Things Fabulous supports you as we see a need to ensure basic civil rights for all people. Also, we do not see this as interfering with our sovereignty as we already expect such policies to be in place within our nation. This policy will ensure protection for citizens of ATF abroad, as well.

We will attempt to sway our delegate to our position. :)
