New UN Proposal Categories?

Note: This is NOT a proposal discussion

I just spotted this intriguing tidbit in the Technical (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=380728):
There is no category that deals directly with health, either public or private and neither for animals or humans.

Therefore, we propose the creation of a new category entitled "Health".That would require a change to the game engine, and is therefore, I think, out of the question.Nope, adding new categories is quite elementary and we (the mods) have been discussing the idea for a fair while. For now - watch this space!
I just spoke with King Siroc about this on IRC. He told me they couldn't make the discussion public, as they aren't sure whether it will be implemented or not. Nor could he share the potential categories themselves, as that might involve revealing secrets about the OMG Secrit Game Code!1!!.

Assuming this is true, what would you, the UN Forum reader, like to see added to the game code? I'm thinking that we could work up a list of perhaps four to seven suggestions, worked out with strengths, effects, and so on, and cross-post it to Technical. I'd hoped to use the UN forum spirit of consensus to refine and fine-tune such suggestion, rather than just responding to the Tech thread directly.

Anybody got any ideas? I've seen recent requests for Health Care and Education, and I'm sure there are others.

Discuss among yourselves.

I think a specific UN Category directed towards Research may be a good idea; although some research based proposals can fall under other categories, it would be nice to have one specific Category dedicated to it.

Pretty much, those and one separating anything dealing with space into its own category.

I agree. 'Scientific advancement'?

Think about this in Game Terms too, folks ... what, for instance, would a "Scientific Advancement" category affect?

Scientific advancement
"A proposal to promote < blank > at the expense of < blank >"

Remember, in this game every positive effect has some sort of counterbalance. We won't be taken seriously if we don't take that into consideration.

I agree. Though there should be an alternative too, should research proposals get repealed.

The Tracking Near Earth Objects and Stem Cell research are two examples that may have fit into this category their calendar year.

Not exactly true. Gun Control is to tighten or relax.

The game stat could be to simply increase or decrease government funded research (i.e. taxes).

If the game were run by Californians we'd tax ourselves to death with bond measure after bond measure ... though arguably on important things. :)

Which probably ties to Crime in some way, as does Recreation Drugs. Even Human Rights can cause problems elsewhere, though they've declined to define how. Certainly it hurts the Dictators.

Well, now we aren't talking titles but game impacts ... hmmm, perhaps scientific research takes money away from the defense industry or prisons?

Obviously I can't say much, but food for thought:

What does 'Human Rights: Strong' adversely affect (assuming improved Civil Rights is not a bad thing)?
