Compulsory UN Membership
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Alexantis

Description: Our peace-keeping regulations are hindered by the fact that not all nations are in the UN, and if, for example, disarmament was made regulatory, non-UN nations would have the ability to attack other nations without defensive retaliation or action.

Therefore, I propose Compulsory UN membership so that all peace-keeping laws apply to every nation, and no peaceful diplomatic action actually hinders UN-member nations against the rest of the civilized world.

Approvals: 4 (Alexantis, Anatonia, JS Nijmegen, WZ Forums)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 137 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Sun Dec 5 2004

So therefore, an organization which has no jurisdiction outside of its membership is going to tell those - over whom it has no right to tell anything - that they have to join up.

I wonder what the "or else" is. Or else you'll die laughing?

Restrictions placed on Popedos
A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: NejNod

Description: In the best interests of world and economic stability, the Council Members of NejNod would like to make the following proposal against another UN member:

1) A strong and decisive vote against the country of Popedos who has immediately, upon activation of its country, declared War on NejNod for no justifiable reason.
2) As a UN member, we request our friends and other responsible UN members to strongly ratify a resolution that punishes this warlike attitude that is not conducive to cooperative actions to make all of our nations and all of our countries strong, safe and free from military action that is not backed by a serious infraction of world rules.
3) As punishment, we request an immediate vote to remove UN status from Popedos due to their warlike nature, actions and removal from reality. Nations that declare war on other nations for no justifiable action should not be tolerated in this August body of peaceful nations seeking peaceful solutions in a strong world.

Respectfully submitted to our UN members
The Council of NejNod.

Eh, I could care less at this point... the prevalence of n00b idiocy is making me numb to it now. It'll be deleted within 24hrs, and the writer will get warned for submitting a proposal which violates game mechanics... All because he was too icompitent to read the FAQ's before taking action... Such is the fate of the lazy and ignorant.

WZ Forums approves everything that has more than one sentence and half the ones that have one sentence. I don't think he even reads them.

WZ Forums? Yes, he approves about 98% of the proposals that cross the UN que, in some cases when they are contradictory too...

Hey, barring my first resolution at least the things I propose make sense.

Oh calm down;)
However, if your first proposal was like the proposals above with regard to not making sense, why are you being so harsh on the "noobs."

How about people... On deathbeds?

Now that you mention it, if I must leave this world, to go while fulfilling my UN duty is the best way I can imagine.:)

I got nothing against people doing it once, especially when they're new. But still

1. People do it over and over.
2. People put absolutely no effort into their resolutions for the most part.
3. Even newbs should know better for some stuff. Take for example the "sex" prop, or one that claims we should, "be able to shoot any police officer that points a gun at us". Thats just willful stupidity.

I thought this way once also. Then got an apology from a 12 year old for not knowing what he was talking about when trying to support me on points in the general forum. That changed my whole perspective on some of these resolutions.

My being needlessly cruel aside, there should be more stringent rules for submission. Like you said a lot of these people aren't doing it intentionally. If they were warned first it would probably cut down on problems. this is getting dangerously off topic....
