Support: Use of Reputable Sources

WHEREAS UN debates serve as enlightenment for some Member Nations

RECOGNIZING that UN Member Nations engage in debate basing their knowledge on a website that can be edited by anyone and everyone

FURTHER RECOGNIZING that such a resource is often incorrect and not credible

REALIZING that this contributes to a false sense of knowledge in Member Nations who use or base decisions on information taken from such sources

THEREFORE be it resolved by the UN that Wikipedia.com and other similar sources be banned as a source of information for use in UN discussions

Let us make this official.

Well, besides it being slightly illegal as written as identifying real world sources....

How would this resolution be enforced?

I am of the viewpoint that it is not a real world source... that is the reason for the proposal.

But I see what you mean and will reword it.

I asked because, if I remember correctly, there used to be a resolution that required proper grammar in all UN resoultions but it was never enforced and eventially disappeared from the list.

I'll troll the threads and report violators to the Ministry of Love

Too slight for UN discussion.

Now, if you expand it to include all UN activity... as in "the need for credible sources"...

Such use threatens society, and is thus Genocide. The soon to be panel on Genocide will prosecute criminals reported to it by the Ministry of Love.

NAAAAAHHHHHHH

Make it huge, sweeping, and directed against those who don't write convincingly or intelligently.

The Old Guard will sweep it into being.

[hushed voice] Hang on Vastiva, we don't have that much power yet... [/hushed voice]

Old Guard? Don't know what you're talking about.

Old Guard? Don't know what you're talking about.

Old Guard = all the flibbles who have haunted these halls forever. The "long term residents". Old military terminology from someone who was in the old military. ;)

And if you want power, you take it. Carpe Diem! Lets get it on! Time to play whack-a-mole with the illiterate!

ROFLMAOPIMP! Ahh, my mistake, and apologies to Tuesday. I will work on a revised version if this fails. And a corrolary expansion resolution if it passes.

Of course, it is an illegal concept to begin with I'm afraid ...

You cannot make game rules about what is used in debate or U.N. resolutions / those other things via U.N. proposals come resolutions ... and if you do use some actual RL resources in a proposal / resolution / those other things, you need to be bloody careful about it and usually get a Moderation check first.

* Waves about his Sabre of the Old Guard Regiment, :p

Still, it would be nice to post in a world where the Christian Bible + Other Religious Texts are not " fired and brim-stoned at you " from up on on high ( and mighty ) other players ... but then again " wouldn't it be nice if the world was chocolate ... " ... bloody Cadbury's Chocolate advertisement ... I used to know the REAL lyrics ...

Cut the Old Guard stuff before you reveal us all. Or did you forget your vows of secrecy? We can't have people know our plans of taking over the UN and then invading and conquering the rest of NS. Oh, if you're not OG, forget I said that.

Komokom, this is a joke resolution intended to get a point across. Nothing more.

Hey! It is a resolution first. Residual effect of it getting a point across without being passed is a second possible benefit. ;)

Already had one resolution thrown out for being considered a joke, would rather the second version be deemed illegal, if anything.:)
