Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
At this time, Pilot's United Nations News Service is projecting that the Definition of Marriage resolution currently being voted on will pass, 64% to 35% [5% MoE].
Up to this point PUNNS has correctly projected sixteen out of twenty resolutions, all within the five percentage point margin of error.

Is there an archive of PUNNS projections?
Furthermore, PUNNS may find some of the information at the United Nations Association (UNA) useful:

I am compiling an archive now.

Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
The Pilot United Nations News Service is still monitoring the bill, and we are glad to say that the bill is currently 68% favor to 32% oppose - well within our 5% projection margin of error. We also project that it will stay relatively close to these numbers until voting expires on Thursday. Any movement, however, we predict will be upward.
Is it me or does this almost depress you?

That we can predict the vote outcome of a resolution based on its category and general statement? Not at all. That means that nations are behaving in predictable manners.
OOC:
All people vote in predictable patterns. It takes someone to compile those patterns to make such predictions.

Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
As we expected, the vote percentage at the end of Tuesday moved upward, closing the margin two points. It now stands at 66% favor and 34% oppose. This new movement brings it closer to our original projection on Sunday [64%-35%].
Nearly 2:1. Not bad at all.
And yep, voting is predictable, as is pattern voting.

Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
Due to some sudden movement of usually inactive regions registered with the United Nations, the new percentage of the Definition of Gay Marriage is 62% favor to 38% oppose. We predict, as Thursday rolls on, we will see a bit more votes come in to favor the resolution - possibily enough to bump it to 63% favor and 37% oppose.

I think you may see many socially progressive nations change their votes on this resolution as it contains some clauses which could have very troubling and profound implications for society.

Care to bet on that? "Many" being defined as "over 50%"?
Didn't think so.

Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
Contrary to our earlier estimates, many votes came in overnight against the resolution, and it now stands at 61% to 39% - still within our 5% margin of error. Since the moment has been unusual in the past couple of hours, we will withhold from making another projection on the rest of the day.

Re: Definition of Marriage Resolution
PUNNS is proud to say that we have made yet another accurate projection. The "Definition of Marriage" resolution passed, by a margin of 61.4% to 38.6%. Our original projection called for a 64% to 35% with a five percentage point margin of error. We came within less than three percent of the favorable and just above three for the opposed. The Pilot United Nations News Service made its projection on Saturday, at 10:00 P.M. - just hours after the bill had reached the floor.
This increases our accurate projections to seventeen out of twenty-one bills - or 80%.
Haha, actually, I have made a good $10,000 dollars off the stock market in the past couple of years. I pulled most of it though.

Thread necromancy is frowned upon.
However, this does beg the question: Where's Pilot?
