While The Rogue Nation of Flibbleites has the death penalty (and we use it too). We feel that this has the same chance of being passed as an attempt to ban the death penalty, which is about the same as a snowball's chance in hell.

For the perusal of UN members:

Compulsory Death Penalty
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: The black clouds

Description: LESS RIGHTS FOR CRIMINALS, MORE RIGHTS FOR DECENT CITIZENS -

People should feel safe in their own homes; a compulsory death penalty could be seen as a step back in democracy but will greatly reduce crime:

-Law offenders will be executed by the state if found guilty of murder

-Life imprisonment will now mean life

-Law offenders do not have the freedom to apply for compensation if under trial themselves

First - I realise the person who I quoted is not the author, so I am not directing the comments at them.

I am not killing my people. Especially in the name of "human rights" and using the phrase "decent citizens" to do it.

Murder - the premeditated act of taking a life - is wrong. Even more so when it is someone who is defenceless and can't fight back.
So why is the death penalty just again?

If you could be 100% sure of guilt you might justify this, but so often people we were sure were guilty are proved innocent by new DNA tests and so on.

I would not like to run the risk of killing an innocent person by mistake.
