OOC: Just vote, you're playing the part of my government voting on various issues. This poll will be open for 1 day.

Aye or Nay?

OOC: It's the UN proposal, so i won't copy & paste what it says.

A surprising twist indeed! The conservative view must have sweet talked the majority, and this country has a pretty strong "Nay" view on this proposal thus far.

OOC: And in reference to playing issues into politics as mentioned by a moderator -- I roleplay on many games, and there isn't anything against the TOS stating that i cannot roleplay the issues within my country. Maybe it should have been better placed in the issues forum, but i thought that section was more technical.

Given that there are at least five locked threads in the immediate vicinity, all with roughly the same title, and all stating: "Use the official, already open topic" to discuss the current resolution at vote, one would think that an experienced role-player like yourself would read a bit and understand the basic forum rules before starting yet another topic to be locked.

Please don't start new topics / polls / etc. when there is an existing topic on that very subject. Thank you.

OOC: Is that why you forgot your "OOC" tag? My topic is a more individualized situation, i'm not discussing this issue. As you can see, the voting here determines my support of this proposal, so it is more than just a discussion.

This is the UN Forum. In this forum, we debate UN resolutions that affect all UN member nations, not national issues. If you want to roleplay your individual nation, go to one of the roleplaying forums (International Incidents or NationStates). There is no need for an OOC tag, as the UN forum doesn't enforce roleplay etiquette because it's not a roleplaying forum.

You've made four or five threads now relating to your own national issues, and gotten exactly one in-character response. That's because roleplaying in NS isn't about annotating issues. Would you please read the stickies in the roleplay forums before starting any more inappropriate topics in inappropriate places? Thank you.

Actually I think having a poll in the UN forum to compare against the resolution is an interesting idea, and would hope for that reason that this thread stay open.

Mind you the "official" thread has a non-neutral title, which I think is leading, while this thread and poll are IMHO not leading.

As for the poll, you should have added an abstain option ... which is most likely what the Confederated City States of Mikitivity will be voting ... unless the Adopt an Elf Society gets a hefty bonus, then my government may reconsider its position. ;)

Looks like those who read this forum are mostly against the resolution

I think many UN forum members are fairly conservative and critical about many things, so I'm not surprised by that result. I would vote if there was an abstain option, but there isn't.

It is hard to guess ahead of time how to make a good poll, but I would love to see a poll with Yes-No-Abstain as the three options run in the forum parallel to each resolution.

I'd also suggest that the "poll" thread be separate from the UN debate thread and that the poll be kept focused on ... well the poll and taking about UN forum, not UN behavior.
