Hi everyone, here's my proposal:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
More Protection for Oceans
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: Fineden

Description: Free flow of information.

Aim: To enhance the collaboration between military and civilian authorities of UN members. This includes actions like using military submarines to track whale migrations, prevent illegal fishing and detect possible natural dangers such as tsunamis. All information related to these matters should be freely shared with other member nations, since preserving oceans and human life is everyones responsibility.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the military could be used for other things than war. I'm not saying defending our borders isn't important, but during the times of peace, I think the proposal would benefit everyone if passed. For example, using submarines as described in the proposal. I'm sure we could spare some subs from the normal patrol routines and dealing with the military is sure to discourage people from doing against the law. Also, sharing the information with others is not a problem, since it would benefit everyone, possibly saving many lives too. I don't see how it could be used wrong.

May I suggest you look at another thread on this forum, as there is a suggested fishing proposal already being discussed. Perhaps your two nations could work together on a combined proposal?

Thank you for telling me. That proposal came after mine, though, and it seems to cover very different areas than mine, concentrating on fish only.

Fineden, this resolution is illegal as written. It has nothing to do with human rights. That'll get it bounced right away.

I also don't see how it protects the oceans, provides a free flow of information, or enhances military cooperation either. It just seems to be a free-flow set of ideals, not really a proposal to do something.

You might want to read over the sticky topics at the top of this forum. You need to make your proposals a whole lot clearer before they stand a chance of passage.
