You don't have to. It isn't compulsory.

Well, if you do want to join the U.N. let me suggest two things to make it a better experiance, :)

1) Read the game F.A.Q. , especially the part on the U.N. ;)

2) Once that is done, have a look at some of the stickied threads here on this forum ! They'll explain how some things, such as resolution writing, should be done. :p

I could copy / paste a few specific things from the F.A.Q. and those threads here, but in the long run, you'll get a better idea of what you may be getting into from those two sources, ;)

And, no matter if you join the U.N. or not, I wish you the very best and hope you enjoy the game with or without the U.N. ! :D

* And don't forget, now you've made this thread, if you have any really specific questions to do with the N.S.U.N. try asking them here, I'm sure a few of the older hands at the N.S.U.N. will be glad to do their best at giving a good answer !

( Me too, of course ! :D )

Your government should should apply for membership if you like the idea of devising, debating and campaigning on international legislation in an attempt to push the (NS) world that bit closer to your government's vision.

You should join because it offers the following perks:

1) A nifty, non-adhesive UN badge, made of only the finest in cheap plastics.

2) A free fruit basket (or, if you frequent the forums, many of free fruit baskets, each one eager to talk to you).

3) Free admission to the all-night orgies at the Vastivan embassy (fun for the whole family, even your Pets!)

Other than that, it's a pretty bum deal.

I've been a UN member for most of this nation's life and I'm still trying to work out why I bothered joining. Run, run while you still can...
