UN Security Force
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: The Gutter Runners

Description: In the war torn world that we live in today, safety has become a growing issue. Not just safety in domestic issues, but more importantly in regards to international relations.

Proposal: To create a standing army of the UN. The standing army would be formed with 5% of each UN nation's current military force. Should a UN member be attacked, then, through a proposal, the standing army could be called into action. Should a nation outside of the UN call for UN aid, then a proposal would call the army into action. Each UN nation, whether it were to be able to provide military units or not, would be taxed a small amount more for the upkeep of the standing army. Understanding the current size of the UN, the tax and amount of troops needed to be supplied would be quite minimal.

Important decisions regarding the UN Security Force would be only made through proposals, thus having the support and consent of a majority of nations.

The Goal is for a safer tomorrow. The downsides are minimal. With a unified force, the United Nations can protect itself, the world, and the future.

Vote Yes for the UN Security Force.

Actually, it doesn't. From the stickied thread, Before you make a proposal...
Do not use these categories to establish a UN military force. These are resolutions to change the level of national government spending. The UN does not maintain its own standing military under any circumstances.
We're getting about two of these a week lately, and they will be deleted if they get noticed. If you're lucky, you'll only get warned about it. If you politely ask the mods to remove it, they might not even do that.

Either way, the UN does not maintain an army of any sort in NationStates, and that's the Official Response of the NS Administration. There's really no point in discussing it further. It's a pity, actually. This one's better than most. You should read the rules and bend your efforts towards something legal. I think you'd do well.
