UN Resolution Proposal: Alliances Among Nations

The peoples of this world want safety, security, equal trade and friendship, so therefore I propose..
1.Nations, whether they members of the United Nations or not, are allowed to enter into alliances for a period of
2-3 years (3-4 weeks real-time) depending upon the leadership of the nations and circumstances thereof, and alliance renewal will come up at the last year of that period.
2.With these alliances, comes the power to create trade aggreements, defense against either foreign forces or aid to internal crises and immigration.
3.To record these alliances, the United Nations would create a database of the known and declared alliances and update the list every three weeks.
I believe this proposal would foster friendship, and respect for our fellow nations if it is passed and put into action.

This is pretty much a wasted proposal, as it really changes nothing and adds a hassle of having to renew alliances.

Illegal proposal... violation of game mechanics.
Even if it weren't... I do not think the NSUN should have pervue over independant alliances, especially attempting to dictate time frames and the like. For example, GEDRA (the Galactic Exploratory, Defense and Research Alliance) which I founded has its own stated, limitation of powers, and sharing of resources, and procedures for membership, for how membership is to be voided to a member accused of violations, and for additions to the treaty, as well as its own stated purpose... Since the alliance is designed to be benefitial to all members of a permanate basis, I do not see why it should be subject to time limits by some disconnected body like the NSUN (one of its primary goals is the sharing of space charting information, stellar and planatary and exploration between the members, so as to expand and cut the exploration costs of the entire body as a whole, and improve the navigational charts of same members)... The entire concept is built on a permanate alliance of peaceful, explorative space-farers... this would invalidate said alliance for no other reason, except that the author appearantly believes that all permanate alliances must be bad (in which case, the NSUN is inherantly bad, since it is built as a semi-permante long-term alliance).

While I understand the idea of the proposal, I can see at least one problem with it. You can't pass a resolution that rules on the laws of nations that are not in the UN. So article 1 would have to be modified to remove the reference to nations outside the UN.
