Regarding Proposal "Legalize Human Sacrifice"

Hey, I know this sounds a little odd, and immoral for the whole "real world" aspect. But I believe that adding Human Sacrifice to the UN would add a new twist (Yes, I know there are many).
But the main thing with my proposal is that it defines in only a few words the means, and allows for the intervention of the UN. It puts the power of decision on the UN. Also, it is completely voluntary, as it does not require all the UN nations to have human sacrifice to their gods, whoever they worship, but allows who do want to, to do so.
I really would like to get this proposal passed, so thank you all, and have a nice day.

Too weird for words, but it does go along with our national policy of "self-responsibility".

Post a copy of the proposal, please.

Legalize Human Sacrifice
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: Tau Delta Tau

Description: Considering that the world is composed of many religions and religious beliefs

Considering outlawing one religion's pratice because it goes against your beliefs would be discrimination

The UN declares:

1. That any country in UN, if they so choose, can ritualistically sacrifice citizens of their country without fear of discrimination or penalty.
2. The country can choose who and how many they will sacrifice at their own discretion.
3. If the sacrifices turn to an overall genocide of the population, the UN can step in and do what they feel is needed to stabilize the situation.
Sorry, too vague and poorly defined for us to support, and what on earth prompted you to make the Strength "strong"?

Interesting idea, but I think most human-sacrificing nations would find far too much else in the UN unpalatable to ever consider joining. Besides, it probably violates about a dozen human rights resolutions already. This doesn't even give a Freedom of Religion cover for itself. Sorry, not gonna fly.

If victims are volunteer, why not ?

Voluntary human sacrifice is already legal in our nation, so long as it has been determined by a Judge that the sacrifice truly is voluntary.

I cannot support the legalization of involuntary human sacrifice. That's murder.

The Rogue Nation of Flibbleites cannot support this proposal as human sacrifice is considered murder in our nation.

This is purely a national matter; not international!

As far as I know, there is no UN policy making human sacrifice illegal, which means that it is not illegal world-wide!

Since it is not illegal internationally and all nations that would practice it would have it legal already, it is a waste of our time to debate whether it should be legal on the international scale.

Bahgum would disagree that this is only a national matter. As it is clear that such practices will attract the attention of those nations who feel that they have to stop what they consider to be disagreeable moral activities. This issue then becomes an international human rights and religious freedom debate. As such Bahgum was pleased to add its vote as delegate, whether we agree with human sacrifice or not, it is a different resolution (ABOUT TIME) and has debatable issues.

If a proposal was made that regulated human sacrifice only in nations where that happens, then it would be something I might support. Also, if the proposal ensured that ALL human sacrifices are voluntary I would support it. This proposal does not get my support.
