:headbang: The newly proposed plan to ban nuclear weapons is a mistake. There are several countries throughout the world, that relies either in part or wholly on the mining of Uranium and other nuclear materials to keep their economy moving. Yes, nuclear weapons are a terrifying thing, and the fact that any "rogue" nation can get their hands on one or more, or even make their own is quite frightening, but a mandate to dismantle all warheads is going too far. Moving from one extreme to the other will not help any. As I stated before, many nations rely on mining nuclear materials for weapons and/or powerplants. A cutback in the mining industry will also mean a cutback in military spending, but only for nations belonging to the UN. A poor, and poorly defended nation in the middle of an economic depression will not be able to properly defend themselves from attack from a nation that has money and nuclear materials, and that could quite possibly end up being every non UN nation. Please, before you vote for this resolution, think...What if your nation came under attack from a non UN nation, or a non complying UN nation, and you had no way to defend yourselves from a lack of military spending, as well as an economic depression? :headbang:
