Repeal Resolutin #22

Altak
27-10-2004, 03:03
I am a strict believer in the sovereign rights of nations big or small. Our nation is growing still, and honestly, does not want to have the larger powers that be to intrude and make our own policies. This act is a direct interference on our sovereign rights to govern.

If my nation believes that trials that are deemed fair by the United Nations will always favor the criminals in the end, I have the right to do so.

Are you sure that you've got the right resolution number there, or do you really want to repeal the resolution "Outlaw Pedophilia?"

Lol. That's all.

I meant the one about free trials. Yeah, pedophilia sucks. We don't like free trials so that we can burn pedophiles at the stake.

I don't like your title.

Give us words, not numbers.

I figured that you had the wrong number, that's why most people refer to resolutions by name instead of the number (plus it means that we don't have to go look up the number in orde4r to know what resolution you're talking about).

Whilst the Telidian government respect the honourable member from Altak’s opinion we must respectfully state that we do not concur. Due process must exist for all because without it unmentionable travesties of justice, not to mention human rights violations will go unchallenged. I don’t feel this is the way forward for civilised nations. ‘Free Trail’ and ‘Definition of Free Trial’ must stay!

Especially when the resolution in question (#22) was proposed by Game Moderator Stephistan.

I never agree with any proposals that gives a number instaed of a name.

That's irrelevant. Just because she is a mod (or was a mod, didn't she retire?), doesn't mean she's above scrutiny, nor her resolutions above repeal.

I am against the proposed resolution proposing to eliminate UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION #21 Fair trial

It does not define what a fair trial is, and so it allows soveriegn nations to determine that. All it does is guarantee that citizens have at least this minimum protection.
