ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!??!?!?!?! No way will that get through 40%!!!! That would create a mass hysteria people without power...due to lack of power plants

People without cars....I dont think so...Ive recommennded that this not be passed to my delgate and to others..

I will be putting in a similar proposal in which the reduction % is MUCH smaller

Expect such a proposal by the end of the week..

I meant to put that in, thanks!

You can reduce it that much and not impact industry too much. Wind, solar, and nuclear power are much cleaner than coal, oil, and gas generated power.

You can power cars by electric, fuel cell, or solar power.

Well, perhaps you can consider looking into antimatter as a source of fuel. Although highly controversial, it also has its positive points...

Her Majesty's Government is keen to express its support for the reduction in greenhouse gases. We would like the whole of the international community to hear our pledge of making this world a better place for all. We hope that other nations who support us on this, will urge the United Nations to accept our application of membershio.

This is a list of resolutions that already deal in such matters.

#18 Hydrogen Powered Vehicles, Passed Monday June 16 2003
#39 Alternative Fuels, Passed Sunday November 30 2003
#71 Sustainable Energy Sources, Passed Tuesday August 31 2004
#72 Reduction of Greenhouse Gases, Passed Sunday September 5 2004

Please check these, as they already go far in the reduction of greenhouse gases in all UN nations. It is always a good idea to check with the list of passed resolutions before submitting anything.

Indeed, our Ennish colleagues point out some very important resolutions. If I may also add, that your proposal, whilst certainly good in intent, does nothing but cause global economic chaos. May I respectfully request the honourable delegation from Irisheland do some research before tabling any further environmental proposals? One cannot simply set a target without looking at the consequences exerted over member states. Environmental issues are by nature hugely complex and a decision in one area will often be at the expense of another, just as important.

Respectfully
