I recommend the UN consider forcing all countries within its jurisdiction to become Catholic. It is the only true religion; therefore, all countries should accept it. This is an earnest request. Thank you.

Um, how about no? People need to be allowed to worship as they please. Not everyone reads the Bible or goes to church, etc., and we shouldn't force them, either.

Have you ever heard of this:

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." -Jesus

Now would you like it if a Muslim suggested that the U.N. should consider forcing all countries within it's jurisdiction to become Muslim? How about a Buddhist? A Hindu? A practititioner of the Tsalagi(sp?) religion?

No? Then don't do the same thing to them. It's offensive and hurtful.

You're joking, right? Because if not, you just entered the competition for the stupidest UN proposal.

What is up with all of these people trying to force their religion down the the throats of others? Can't they at least get enough of a clue to realize the rest of us don't follow their beliefs and that their's isn't "the only true religion"? Let's not forget the others that make the same claim and have the same amount of evidence, with the same reliability, to back it up.

And while I'm at it, Catholicism isn't a religion! It's a branch, with its own denominations, of a religion.

The more I think about this, the more it must be a joke. Sadly, I suspect it is referencing what people are trying to do in other areas.

I should note I have nothing against Catholics or Catholicism, just a certain type of people that degrade all belief systems by their simply using that system in anything they say. They transcend all religions and even science, managing to provide annoyance to us all.

I'm a catholic of Italian descent. I do think that Catholicism is the one true religion considering that we are the only christians who can trace our heritage back through the bishops to the apostles and to Jesus the savior of mankind. I also believe that people should join the Roman Catholic Church but i do not believe that we should force people to join because even if they do join they would not participate and possibly even have less of a chance of eternal life with God in heaven

As such, the NSUN cannot mandate a specific religion without first repealing, each in turn, the two aforementioned Resolutions. As such, given the voting block of their passage, such an attempt is doomed to fail.

this has entered itself in the same category with the banning marriage proposal. This is so entirely stupid. Just also for your information it isn't a religion. It is a branch of a true religion........ Christianity. This is just like me saying ok lets make it to where everyone has to tattoo their entire body and pierce one thing on their body every weekend. It is taking away the basic human right to decide what you want. Hey I am a baptist let's make the whole world baptist. My people would throw me out of office. I don't think so. So stupid.

No, it's not going to happen. This resolution will never get the necessary endorsements, and if by some random fluke of chance, it did, it would never get voted for by the nations of the UN. So don't worry, and let him have his visions of oppressing every other religion out there.

I absolutely disagree with this proposal. My country holds high pride in its freedom of religious worship. We allow the people of our nation to have a choice and every human on this earth deserves a choice! I believe this proposal degrades our religious values as well as the standard of the UN.
