Scientific Freedom is the most mad resolution I've ever heard of.People can just start building a nuclear bomb and blow up the capital.Wow I guess that's ok.That's exactly why we have to repeal Scientific Freedom. What if the technology got into the wrong hands? Then, what would happen? So for the people that approved the resolution you're just going to let people blow up you?Wow sounds nice.WE MUST REPEAL THIS IDIOTIC RESOLUTION!

there are more than just negatives to scientific freedom, we need to keep it. Freedom to research as you wish is more than just nuclear weapons, it means stem cell research to cure illnesses of the brain like Parkinson's Disease, neurological diseases and paralysis. Personally I feel there is nothing wrong with stem cell research. It's mainly Religious zealots lobbying to boycott it. so keep the freedom

What precisely would you want to regulate?

I propose that we make regulations on weaponary. If the person(s) is making a weapon not for the government first it should have governmental approval. Then, if the weapon is more powerful than the standary weapons of the government then, the U.N. needs to approve of it too.The U.N. can decide over the government where the weapon belongs,in what hands, etc. Now if the weapon is made only for the government it has a right to be kept secret.I would appreciate people's opinions on my proposal.

To repeal this Scientific Freedom business, dealing specifically with nuclear weapons as you mentioned them, would be utterly self-destructive and pointless. Why? Because a nation could simply build a nuclear weapon (or perhaps develop something much more powerful) outside of the UN, and then use it on your nation. And with your nation scientifically under-developed, you'd be left at an extreme disadvantage.

Oh, and I agree with the "Kerry-Edwards '04" sentiment. :D
