Over controlling UN?

After browsing a few of the most recent resolutions or bills that have been proposed to the UN,I cannot help but stop and see how the UN has become a tool for one nation to try to press their ideas onto other member nations.

I have seen bills such as "Mandatory research on Alternative Fuel" as well as "Ban marraige" (a more recent one).

Although I am no longer a member of the UN,I am troubled by these things. Can member nations not choose how to spend their money or how their citizens live their lives?

Have member nations of the UN simply forgoteen that the main purpose of the UN is to protect peace around the world and not to dictate how people live their lives?

I agree with you in some ways. I am a part of the UN, and I do think that with some of these bills we are overstepping.
EX. Banning marriage, driving on the left side of the road

Some of these bills are superfulous, but some aren't and that is why people like me and some others are still in the UN. Every vote counts, and if some of us get together because we think that some of these bills should be so then maybe we can keep them out.

Until they get passed as resolutions I'm not going to worry. Absolutely stupid ideas have always appeared in proposal list.

the UN has become a tool for one nation to try to press their ideas onto other member nations.

Whilst I agree that some things proposed are just ridiculous, infringement on national sovereignty is what the NSUN deals in.

The UN is your chance to mold the rest of the world to your vision
