Here's the proposal
UN law enforcement

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Orlia

Description: We should start a collective UN military to enforce it's resoloutions. no one takes the UN really seriously, because the we can't do anything about a nation breaking laws. nations in this "police force" would have to pass a test, to make sure they will do their job, and would basicaly keep an eye out in the forums for rule-breakers. we should probably get at least one nation from each reigon to help.

First off all resolutions are enforced by the compliance ministry. Second, creating a UN army will never happen.

Not only would it never happen. You provided no base. You gave no thought into how it would work. How big it would be, who would fund it? those are some questions....but i do agree it would never work.

Though from what I understand a U.N. army will never happen on this site, maybe from a realistic point of view it should. If you look back in history the reason for the demise of the league of nations, which was like the forefather of the U.N., was that it had no teeth to enforce its policies.

Actually, that'll be deleted in the next sweep of UN proposals. Forming a UN Army is a kiss of death for a proposal.

Real Life: The League of Nations collapsed simply because many of the nations that set it up, notably the USA, did not join it. It had no support, so the flow-on effect was it had no jurisdiction, and no power. It was ignored.

NationStates: As I understand it, it is against the rules and mechanics of the game for the UN to form an official army. Any proposals that relate to the forming of such an army are deleted, and a warning sent out.
