Repealing UN Resolution number 1 "Fight the Axis of Evil"

Having just examined the recent proposals before this United Nations, I have found no less than twelve separate proposals before the delegate council suggesting repealing UN resolution 1 "Fight the Axis of Evil". This leads us to the conclusion that repealing this resolution has a large amount of grass-roots support, and we ask the Delegates to take this proposal under serious consideration.

Thank you for your time,

It seems the only right thing to do, to repeal this res., if our purpose and goal is peace and economic growth.

Democracy is forged, not by force, but by unity and discussion.

Therefore, it seems just and fair to enforce diplomacy and agreement instead of war and conflict.

Of course, I do not say that we should not arm ourselves - I ask only, as to what purpose we arm ourselves?

Is it for our own sake, or for that of the United Nations of this World ?

And a nation is evil in whose eyes? In North Korea, the USA is rightly viewed as a ruthless nation responsible for indescribable atrocities in the Korean War (the massacre at Nogun-Ri, for example, the destruction of dams and the subsequent destruction of agriculture that led to the famine that still exists today etc.), Gulf War II (Abu-Ghraib and Sadr City), Vietnam War (My Lai), World War II (Hiroshima and Nagasaki), the arming of the Nicaraguan contras, the invasions of Lebanon, Panama, Afghanistan, Somalia, Cuba, Haiti, Grenada, Guatemala et cetera, giving support to rascist and terror regimes based on oppression, such as Saddam Hussein's in the 1980's, the South African apartheid regime, Pinochet in Chile, Batista in Cuba, Suhato in Indonesia, Pol Pot in Cambodia, the Mujahadeen which became the Taliban in the 80's, the coups that resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, such as the coups which overthrew Salvador Allende in Chile and Patrice Lumumba in Zaire, the subversion of left-wing governments, such as Gough Whitlam's in Australia 1974, the USSR, Yugoslavia, Nigeria, Cuba, East Germany, British Guyana, Angola, Somalia etc, the torturing of POWs in Guantanamo Bay, Abu-Ghraib and Egypt, the executions of leftist activists in Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua and 1950s-60s South Korea, the constant threat of nuclear annihilation... I mean, face it, the US government and military is pretty damn evil if viewed this way. But then, it has its good points too, and so does Iran and North Korea, so I vote in favour of smashing this stupid resolution.

I really like what Robert MacNamara said in the Fog of War. He said that if the US lost World War II, he, and the others involved in the fire-bombings on Tokyo, would be tried as criminals. The definition of war crimes and rightness or wrongness is always decided by the winner. i mean, the Un tries to use impartial and overall definitions and actions, but it isn't always sucessful.

Oh and Eribjon, if this proposal fails and you don't wish to continue to see it through, jump on the bandwagon of Tuesday Heights's proposal. If you really want to see this resoltion gone (respectfully after, of course, your own endeavours are concluded), I think Her proposal has a high possibility of passing, eventually.

I will vote for the repeal, if it comes up to a vote again.

I would advise looking at my repeal of this proposal, here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=362857), as it actually is a proposal to repeal rather than, "Let's just repeal it, ok?"
