Sinear (a member nation) in clear violation of UN Resolutions

(OOC: Not totally sure if this goes here, so if it doesn't, please somebody, move it to the correct place.)

Sinear has directly violated Resolution #26: The Universal Bill of Rights in its acts of atrocity (and that's only one off of the top of the head). The Democratic Republic of Nowhere Place strongly urges all member nations who value the name of peace to step up and support peace-keeping forces (exactly which nations besides mine, I am not sure) within Sinear.

Actions like this one by a UN member nation should not be tolerated.

Sinear has directly violated Resolution #44: The Universal Bill of Rights in its acts of atrocity (and that's only one off of the top of the head). The Democratic Republic of Nowhere Place strongly urges all member nations who value the name of peace to step up and support peace-keeping forces (exactly which nations besides mine, I am not sure) within Sinear.

Resolution #44 is "Fair Treatment of Mentally-Ill". "The Universal Bill of Rights" is Resolution #26.

And how have they violated it exactly? I have read the link, and am not defending their actions, but if you are going to ask my people to go to war with another country that has not attacked me, I am required by my people to ask for more evidence.

(OOC: Lol. Sorry.)

The official responce to this horrifying revalation is. "That city was nothing but criminals and druggies, wiping that city out is only the start of the mass purging of crime and illegal drugs, with our new airpower, no one will dare steal, kill, or scam again." sais Brigadier General Wesley of the SAF.

"Article 5 -- All human beings must not be subjected to torture or to cruel or inhuman treatment or punishment. "

I'd say that's pretty cruel and inhuman punishment...

Not even 4 hours later, and the SAF have struck again, three small farming villages have been incinerated by napalm, destroying everyone, and all the crops. The crops were the main source of food for the surroundign area, soon, many will starve to death.

I'd say that starvation is cruel and inhuman punishment... for an indeterminable offence.

These are indeed troubling events, I- *Yells: There she is* Hey, get out of the set, I'm doing a feed here.

*yells:Taker her down*
*several ringing gun shots, feed ends*

"Article 2 -- All human beings have the right to express themselves through speech and through the media without any interference."

That one speaks for itself (if you read it in context, of course. That woman was doing a news broadcast. No doubt that various other like it around Sinear were similarly "dealt with").

And that's just what I found in the first few posts...

Even if Sinear is in violation, so what? The UN has never kicked anyone out for violation of resolutions, at least not the NS UN.

Heck, look at Chellis. He plainly said a while back that he doesn't follow ANY UN resolutions, and after reporting it nothing happened to him.

But nations do get kicked out - what for?

Submitting inappropriate proposals, UN multiing... violations like that.

Requesting UN intervention is a role-playing element, and many people in these forums are anti-role play. They see it as a place to argue about grammar and sovereignty, not somewhere to develop a national character vis a vi the story of their people. That said, I'd expect this kind of thread to be better placed in International Incidents.

I'll refrain from commenting on the actual event, seeing as how the war is over.

Heh. I just realized that by making this thread. It's not all bad, though. It's just a game, after all. You don't have to play. I've nothing against anyone for not helping out, and thanks for the advice. :p

No worries. I'm on your side, actually. I think this forum could use a good role-play bout every now and then, and with the wacky kinds of resolutions that've been thrown around, there's plenty of fodder. But alas, not all nations feel the same way. Best of luck to you.

Thank you. And best of luck to you in all the things you do.

(Since this thread has pretty much out-lived its usefulness, I'd just assume let it rot, or let the Mods do whatever they do with dead threads.)
